It's an age old complaint, "my husband is such a jerk since we had the baby," "he still thinks his day should consist of work and video games till supper,"

Yes. So much about our lives and relationship have changed, taht it's difficult to say what one thing made the biggest difference. But, like you, dd was pretty easy, as a baby, but when ds came along (and the other kids, too)..."now everything takes significantly more planning and effort."

I've been thinking about this, and finally have a little bit of time to reply.

Hiking...you just gave me a fabulous idea for the kids and i after they get home from school. It is beautiful here today...its cool and sunny outside...it is normally very hot and muggy... hiking is a fantastic way to enjoy this unexpected change in the weather.

LOL, I can imagine the shock. One of my friends had a little boy and kept telling me it was dangerous to take him ANYWHERE. I thought she was exaggerating or something, until we went to the playground one day, with our DDs and the little boy. The kid was an escape artist on speed. Truly amazing, and even though she watched him like a hawk, he managed to find a hole in the fence or something.

There was a book store we went to frequently when the girls were little that had a book pit with toys and books that kids could hang out in while mom and dad browsed the shelves.
