actually, that would be incorrect in jewish law. the rabbi said that once we signed the ketubah (hebrew marriage contract) and it was witnessed that we were legally wed at that point - the rest was just a mere formality.

Yes, that gave me a chuckle. Several European countries have tighter reigns on speech than the US, and that is before we get to countries with a controlled press etc.
The US state department has, however, recently tried to pressure the Danish government to limit press freedom some. So far it has not worked, but the pressure is on again (due to Rasmussen taking the helm of NATO). It is purely a political matter (the US trying to mollify Turkey), but a bit ironic all the same.
excuse me for tapping in late here but yea,why wouldn't a marriage start with the ceremony before others, before God?
both my sister and I had big traditional weddings he first time around.
we both divorced.
her second wedding was in my brothers back yard to the love of her life with her boys and our family. Of course we know that my sister is now deceased but I have no doubt that marriage would ahve lasted til eternity.
my wedding to Kelly will be very different from my wedding to my ex husband -- and it will last until I die. She is my sooulmate and I can't wait to marry her.
Oh my.
Your definition does contradict Bordwithyou's definition.
And I agree it is certainly not a fight.
if dr.laura were to ask me,i'd tell her what keeps my marriage together are the reminders of how it started.
