Oh. now there is a thought. Yeah, my son had to watch that film in ninth grade. All teenage girls swore giving birth. Not such a bad thing.

You do not understand that veterans feel very patriotic and many times join the military because of a love for this country? I literally cannot understand that. It even sounds cruel.
There is nothing casual about feeling a pride in serving one's country and feeling a pride about defending other's rights who are citizens of this country. Many veteran's I have had the pleasure of speaking with are proud to defend the rights of American citizens even when they are disagreeing with the American govt and their policies.
It's sad that you find this a casual unimportant value.
