There are a lot of new posters out there and some old faces, lets all introduce ourselves again...

So we had to plan our wedding around 5 school schedules? i thought it important to get married at a time when I could take a honeymoon -- hence, we got married in the summer. then we needed to get married in june because i didn't want to get married again in July and didn't want to deal with August (as we already had a motorcycle trip planned that summer). So, therefore, we chose a date at the end of June when all the kids' schools would be done for the summer -- as would mine.

We also had to arrange our wedding/honeymoon schedule around our nanny's vacation and work out all the other childcare needed -- the schedule was fairly hefty for 4 kids!

we planned our wedding around all of these things since these are all of our obligations.

one thing our rabbi needed to do was make sure to separate what he would do in terms of Officiating at weddings vs. accepting interfaith couples at our temple. we have always had an open door policy for interfaith couples and have many, many of them as members. However, the rabbi made it clear that he would not perform such a ceremony, but he would welcome you into the congregation that is our temple at all other events.

that's why, around here, many interfaith couples (like both my sisters) get married by JPs.

If the rabbi had been insulted, he wouldn't have accepted my invitation and stayed

Oh my...I hope you are not like some Italians who give the amount of money for the gift at the end depending on how much they liked the wedding :0

True and this is not the first time posters have let other posters fight their battles.

I wonder how people like this survive IRL :0
