A day being "short" doesn't necessarily make it more special.

See, I think that this is part of the misunderstanding here.
LOL, my goodness! I have been to some weddings that were objectively very nice (but still boring). One was on a private estate with bars and snack stations set up throughout the grounds, and dinner served in a beautiful garden. It still involved random people and a too long dinner followed by loud music. A party with 200-500 guests is just too large, IMO, whether it is at a LI catering hall or at some swanky club.
I much prefer a small, more quiet event where you can talk to people.
LOL! and out of all the weddings that you've been to over the years, do you think all of THOSE couples would think that yours was "the best"???? I highly doubt it! In fact, if you ask them, I'm quite sure (unless they hated their spouse and are now divorced) that they would say that "theirs" was the best.
Just like I think that MY wedding to MY dh was "the best" -- and even if we had spent way more (or way less) in comparison to others -- that feeling wouldn't change.
Again, is imagination such an infinitisemal concept? Can you not see how the above would be true?

Since it became necessary to pretend the OP now owes some kind of debt of gratitude to her ex for having him exercise his custodial rights, during his court ordered visitation time. Suddenly visitation by the non-custodial parent is a big favor to the custodial parent.
It's not that hard to parse, y'know. Just think of the biggest, dumbest, whack justification ever thought up and that will usually explain such situations for you.

Not even close.
Again, you're not making sense to me.
