When did I say THEY thought MINE was the BEST? I said I thought mine was the best and people have come up to us many years after the wedding and told us how much of a great time they had. We had a great "crowd" that day and everyone meshed so well. A day that can never be replayed again with the same people :(

I guess your first wedding was not like this even though you said it was "traditional", correct?

Thanks for clarifying that I did NOT say those things and you basically put words in my mouth-have a great day :)

Yes, I know about that "sub-culture". I do have family and friends in other states AND have gone to weddings in other states. But thanks for the info :)

Ok, so you want to be involved in others' lives and their important moments.

Isn't that the "traditional" way they do weddings in your area?

Yes, I had both inlaws and all relatives (both sides) invited and included in my wedding.

and I'm trying to explain that each of us is going to think that OUR wedding is the best -- and yes, even I, have people telling me that they had a great time at our wedding. So what?

I think my wedding to my ex was an ok wedding...it wasn't spectacular - it was ok -- it was colored by the fact my fatherw as dying -- but it was a nice day nonetheless but the wedding that was hands down the most fun I ever went to was my friends suprise wedding in the middle of her 30th birthday cookout in their back yard-- I will remember that one until the day I die-- they had a canoe in the back yard filled with ice and bottles of champagne - so much that by the end of the night we all just were carrying bottles around rather than going through the formality of pouring into glasses!
