I don't think there IS a "so what". If you feel the same way about your wedding, why make a big deal that I feel the same way?

she stated flat out that the information she had was an INFERENCE from all that you have written. AND while you may not have stated these things directly, the inferences are clear to all that post here (well, maybe not to "all").

given the barrage of postings from both of you, YES, I think this is a beyond-fair assumption.

1) I don't care HOW someone has their wedding as long as it makes THEM happy.

2) Not including people who really want to share the day with them or at least do something for them after is my real "beef".

You realize that your second statement completely contradicts your first, don't you?

So if you understand my sub-culture, why would you even bring up the idea that I might act like the classless people you have evidently run into?

why make a big deal? because your posts have a permeating air of your way is the "only" way to do it (in THIS case -- get married)....

Yeah, I have been to way too many weddings where the equivalent of the drunk uncle or the wounded mother made complete idiots of themselves to believe that everyone is capable of, or desires to, act like a mature adult for even one day. Of course some of their behaviors did liven up some otherwise rather dull events.....

Actually both my parents are perfectly capable of being civilized. However, since they would have to travel to my wedding, I would in a sense be hosting both of them (as well as other relatives) for days on end. That would be really difficult. I would also have to bear the brunt of their anxieties and misgivings. I decided that I had no desire to have that take over my wedding.
