It's called being an adult :)
And again, you make your own fun in life.

Sometimes the majority is right. Sometimes reasonable people arrive at a consensus based on reasonable grounds.

Exactly and in other areas of the country and world, they do other traditions which you consider "fru fru". Maybe one would consider your "traditional" wedding something else too which you would find an insult. Just saying......

Who says you have to "make your fun" going someplace you don't want to go? Unless it would really hurt the feelings of the bride, groom, or someone close to the bride or groom if I don't attend their wedding, why should I go if I don't think I'll have a good time? What's wrong with just sending a present and best wishes and going to the beach or something to make my own fun?

No, of course not. Why would you think my relatives (on both sides) would not have been included in other important moments in my life?

Nah, I think Talbot Lover here is way too mature and adult to be insulted by what somebody else thought of her wedding. That's one of the things I really like about her!

Many times people just follow others though, doesn't mean they are right, but they are afraid to be wrong, ALONE :)

I don't think so, unless you have changed your mind about the mother of the bride who started this whole thread!!!!

Again, I think it all depends on your relationship with the person.

I don't know, but I see to "find" fun-shrug
