AH! I knew "fru fru" didn't look right. Frou frou ... much better.

I do not understand this eagerness to take insult. Honestly. If I had wanted a wedding with a frou frou dress and all the accessories, I would have had it (although I was an older bride and I would have looked a bit silly, imo). Not choosing a frou frou dress is not an insult to someone who did anymore than choosing a red car is an insult to someone who chose a green car. I think some people are either overly sensitive or like to play the part on the internet.

We had such a long lapse inbetween our wedding and reception so my sil was dropped off back home to the sitter and was able to be there for the ceremony and pictures at the church. Same thing with my nephew as he was 2 yrs. old and was in the wedding.

Maybe it is just MY "sub-culture" but ANYONE is invited to go to the church wedding. I have been to many that I was not invited to the reception but wanted to see the couple get married.

But don't you find that frou-frou dresses are often accompanied by all the other formal things that Talbot doesn't enjoy? In my experience, the large number of bridemaids, formal dinners with speeches, and long reception lines are more likely to accompany a "frou frou" dress than not.
