I have read many stories over the years of people who prefer to have no small children at their wedding ceremonies, sometimes because they are videotaping and don't want the noises of toddlers and babies to interfere with the videotaping. How does one go about excluding babies and toddlers from open weddings like this? Or is that all in a different part of the country from where you live? There are no "adults only" weddings in your part of the world?

Oh, dear god. Some of those look like they were made for Dancing With The Stars!

What if the wedding ceremony is not in a church? Is the public still welcome to show up if they like?

Babies and toddlers and not excluded from "open weddings". The parents are smart enough to know if the child is being too loud to walk outside.

My wedding was an "adults only" wedding (reception only) but children were welcomed at the church ceremony. I have NEVER been to a "ceremony" where children were not welcomed. The reception yes, the ceremony, no.

It is the marriage that is far more important than the wedding. I stand by that.

IME, yes. I have been to ceremonies in reception halls and did not stay for the reception.

Most of the people I know who have had "no children allowed" weddings made that rule for ceremony and reception. They didn't want kids "messing up the day for them."

And oh how I love being invited to such weddings, leaving my kids with my ex or a sitter, and then getting to the wedding and finding all kinds of kids there.
