"If you can't annoy somebody with what you write, I think there's little point in writing."-- Kingsley Amis, British novelist, 1971 t .
What would men be without women? Scarce, sir, mighty scarce.
OK, I just have to post this here. My older son wrote a somewhat playful note of apology to a friend of his. It was pretty formal, with phrases like, "I am sorrowful from the bottom of my heart." She is Korean, so for fun he ran the note through google translator and delivered to her in Korean. She then ran the translated Korean text though back into English. This went on three times, and after the third translation, this is what Google translator came up with:
"Sally, I really, really, I'm sorry you are wrong. Lead to people constantly teasing me and I'm 42, I feel we need to bridge the gap between the have. Although a small kigae you, you can keep the body of a giant heart to sign up cattle. Your stupid friend of the lungs and mercy between you please forgive me living in a search within your heart."
Which really isn't all that different from things I read on message boards all the time. I think I may have discovered why.
Long, long ago...in a galaxy far, far away (hey two days ago was may the force be with you day, lol) I had one, CocoaPop used to translate for me on a regular basis.
