Here is a SAHM who takes careful budgeting to new heights. It must, of course, be noted that since her DH is military, the family is probably covered in terms of health insurance.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/how-a-family-of-four-manages-to-live-well-on-just--14-000-per-year-174803218.html

"Wagasky, 28, lives with her her husband, Jason, 31, and their two young children in a three-bedroom family home in Las Vegas, Nevada. While Jason, a member of the U.S. Army, completes his undergraduate studies, the family's only source of income is the $14,000 annual cost of living allowance he receives under the G.I. Bill. Despite all odds, the family has barely any credit card debt, no car payment, and no mortgage to speak of."

[...]

"By the time Wagasky's husband came home from Iraq, they had managed to scrape together the $30,000 they needed for a downpayment on a home.

"But we decided the best option would be not to have a mortgage payment at all," she said. "We found a fixer-upper that didn't have a kitchen ... and we paid cash." "

Regina-I never said "I" thought this (just so you totally understand that and then I will start getting attacked that I think this) but do you honestly believe that everyone is religious? What about Atheists and Agnostics? Or someone who just does not go to church?

Then there wouldn't be a tithe in the budget to cut. So your reasoning makes no sense at all. Which isn't unusual, but this was a stretch even for you.

Bord-no one HERE said they would give up their kids for TV. Do you realize that many people DO choose to have less children to have other things in their lives and do you realize that many people do not go to church or believe in god so they do not tithe?

And then there are those of us who have less kids b/c we CAN'T have more...has that even entered your radar?

Again, Regina...if someone does not believe in God or is not religious and does not go to church, tithing doesn't even cross their mind.

No Regina, I never said that "I" don't get tithing. Please re-read my posts.

Exactly. So why did you give it as an example of something that could easily be cut in a budget? I'm not the one who threw tithing out there willy nilly as an example of a budget buster that needed to go. That was you. I'm trying to understand why. I believe you were trying to bait and personally attack someone on here who tithes. And thus far, you haven't exactly given me anything that proves otherwise.

Do you tithe?  You can't cut something that you' aren't spending.

Nope, Savcal. As I have stated a couple of times, I JUST cut down 2 things with my cable as it was not needed. I have NO problem cutting things thing I don't feel is necessary in our lives. I have cut out the daily paper as we read it online.

Clearly you don't get it if you think cable tv is more important than tithing. Go back and read your OP, please.
