Here is a SAHM who takes careful budgeting to new heights. It must, of course, be noted that since her DH is military, the family is probably covered in terms of health insurance.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/how-a-family-of-four-manages-to-live-well-on-just--14-000-per-year-174803218.html

"Wagasky, 28, lives with her her husband, Jason, 31, and their two young children in a three-bedroom family home in Las Vegas, Nevada. While Jason, a member of the U.S. Army, completes his undergraduate studies, the family's only source of income is the $14,000 annual cost of living allowance he receives under the G.I. Bill. Despite all odds, the family has barely any credit card debt, no car payment, and no mortgage to speak of."

[...]

"By the time Wagasky's husband came home from Iraq, they had managed to scrape together the $30,000 they needed for a downpayment on a home.

"But we decided the best option would be not to have a mortgage payment at all," she said. "We found a fixer-upper that didn't have a kitchen ... and we paid cash." "

Bord-no one HERE said they would give up their kids for TV. Do you realize that many people DO choose to have less children to have other things in their lives and do you realize that many people do not go to church or believe in god so they do not tithe?

Well, of course I realize that not everyone contributes to a religious organization, much less tithes.  I am not sure what that has to do with anything I said.  I was just rather shocked at the suggestion that someone would want another child but decide not to have one because they would then have fewer "things" or would not be able to get enough TV stations or something.  Perhaps you meant that they truly could not afford to care for another child, which is an entirely different proposition.

How do you know what my hot spots are?  Your posts are all over the place, and are making absolutely no sense.  Can you type a complete sentence, and clearly explain what it is that you ar etrying to get at?

Regina-I never said "I" thought this (just so you totally understand that and then I will start getting attacked that I think this) but do you honestly believe that everyone is religious? What about Atheists and Agnostics? Or someone who just does not go to church?

Well since we don't know exactly what post you're referencing ...

someone NOT religous wouldn't have to cut tithing, becasue they wouldn't be tithing to begin with. And I daresay that even the most anti-religous person around doesn't place the same value on cable service as a religious person does tithing.

Exactly her point!  You can't cut it to make your budget smaller if you don't do it to begin wi th!
