Here is a SAHM who takes careful budgeting to new heights. It must, of course, be noted that since her DH is military, the family is probably covered in terms of health insurance.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/how-a-family-of-four-manages-to-live-well-on-just--14-000-per-year-174803218.html

"Wagasky, 28, lives with her her husband, Jason, 31, and their two young children in a three-bedroom family home in Las Vegas, Nevada. While Jason, a member of the U.S. Army, completes his undergraduate studies, the family's only source of income is the $14,000 annual cost of living allowance he receives under the G.I. Bill. Despite all odds, the family has barely any credit card debt, no car payment, and no mortgage to speak of."

[...]

"By the time Wagasky's husband came home from Iraq, they had managed to scrape together the $30,000 they needed for a downpayment on a home.

"But we decided the best option would be not to have a mortgage payment at all," she said. "We found a fixer-upper that didn't have a kitchen ... and we paid cash." "

No Regina...tithing would NEVER come to mind and never even THOUGHT to be cut as it was never ADDED on a budget. You do understand this right?

I believe I pointed that out to you several posts ago. I'm not the one who introduced the concept of cutting a tithe instead of cable tv to the debate, dear. That dubious honor is all yours. I'm yet to hear you coherently explain why on Earth that would be an acceptable solution to someone who is devout enough to give 10% off the top to their church. Are you capable of articulating your thought process behind that statement? I'm certainly beginning to think not.

For the truly faithful, in a throwdown between God and cable tv, God is going to win. Hands down. For the atheist, agnostic, non-tithing, it isn't going to be an issue. Duh. So why did you bring it up?

Wow Peachy. If it is not in the budget, they are not cutting it. If someone does not have cable and does not want cable, they are not cutting it from their budget either. If someone does not tithe or does not want to tithe, they are not cutting it from their budget either. You can't cut something that is not there. If someone has cable and wants to tithe and there is a choice, I would HOPE they would pick the tithing if god and the church is that much of an importance in their life.

Bord-people choose to have the amount of children they have (many don't choose the amount, of course and just let God take the reins which whom we are not speaking of right now) for many reasons. I would not think that anyone would chose the amount of children by the amount of TV they want to watch of course lol but finances IS a big part in many families decision on the amount of children to have.

The entire point Savcal is that different people have different things they find important in their lives. I am being attacked of how horrible it is that someone would not tithe. Why? Am I attacking anyone of how they don't watch as much TV as I do or have as many channels (which don't even matter most of the time lol)? No, the point is that everyone chooses different things that are important to them. Tying this into the main reason of this thread.

Try reading them.  You are not making any sense.  You went off about cutting tithing from one's budget, but then you went crazy carrying on about how not everyone tithes, and now, I am not even sure what pooint you are trying to make.

Where did I use the word "devotion" Savcal?

Where did I say you used the word devotion?  That's right - I didn't.   Am I not allowed to choose my own words? I can only use words you've introduced?
