1). Two weeks, $5,000 dollars.  You have to spend it at least 500 miles from your usual home, and you can't keep any when it's done.  Where are you, who are you with, and what are you doing?

2). How many of the fifty states have you visited?  Airport transfers do not count, nor do drive throughs unless you stopped for at least an hour and saw some stuff.

3). Most memorable trip, either good or bad

4). Any trips planned for the rest of 2013?

We don't want The Girl to just choose based on convenience and location. We want her to explore things outside her comfort zone. But, I did some additional research this afternoon, and I'm even more convinced that she's made the right choice.  Of all the reasonable distance and reasonable cost schools with her desired program, the one she's looking at really does appear to have the best program.

That's not a whole lot of money for two weeks....hmm, I think a beach house in Maine or Oregon if the funds allow.  Family and just having fun.

More than half I think, kids too.

3). Most memorable trip, either good or bad

Family trip to Europe last summer, hands down the best trip ever.

4). Any trips planned for the rest of 2013?

A few more and then final college visits too.

2). How many of the fifty states have you visited?  Airport transfers do not count, nor do drive throughs unless you stopped for at least an hour and saw some stuff. -- oh geesh.   Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Florida, New Mexico, Arizona, Washington, Colorado, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, West Virginia, Washington, DC, Maryland, Califonia, Wisconsin, Alaska -- so 20?  Unless I forgot one.

3). Most memorable trip, either good or bad -- Oh, probably our trip to Cozumel in 2007.  Or St Louis 2012 (pka!)

4). Any trips planned for the rest of 2013? -- The kids fly to Germany on Friday. I go to DC in August.  The Kids (and maybe me) go to St Louis in October.

~ I'd go with dh and the children and explore the Grand Canyon.

2). How many of the fifty states have you visited?  Airport transfers do not count, nor do drive throughs unless you stopped for at least an hour and saw some stuff.

~ Well, I've been in every state on the East Coast and explored California on the West Coast, what else is there?  Just joking!  Also Hawaii.

3). Most memorable trip, either good or bad

~ I like what was said earlier, all trips are good.  My two favorites, Paris and Normandy, and Bar Harbor, ME.

4). Any trips planned for the rest of 2013?

~ Yes, an island and a big lake. ;)   I'm loving the way Christmas/New Years fall this year, and I already planned our vacation.

Bord - I used to work summers for the old ferry that ran from Portland up to Nova scotia  -- I took ticket reservations and we used to sell these package tours -- the way I talked up those things you'd think I was a native of the Provinces myself!   every once in a while if we had the next day off and there were available cabins on the ship (it was an overnight cruise) we'd hop on board... drink all night for pennies b/c the crew loved us and sleep the whole way back  (it was a 24 hour r/t ferry that spent one hour in yarmouth nova scotia docking and reboarding...  ah good times

LOL, reading the posts that mention CT, I realize that I have spent a fair amount of time there. Because it is right next door to NY, and so many CT towns function as suburbs of NYC, I always forget that it is a separate state. I have also been to NJ, but only last year and because I was invited to meet some of the ladies who used to post here years ago.

Now that I think about it, I've also spent the night in New Jersey, Connecticut, and Indiana, but didn't really see any sights.

1). Answering my own questions....I think DH and I are doing the Canadian Maritime Provinces and Baffin Island 2). 47. DH had also done 47. The only two neither of us have ever visited are Alaska and Hawaii. He's never been to North Dakota, and I've never been to Connecticut. 3). Probably the trip to Japan when I was in high school. First time that far from all that was known and comfortable. 4). I'm thinking of going to England and Scotland before school starts again.
