Thanks Jamblessed.  Proof that flip flops go with maxi skirts!  Actually, many shoes would work with that in my mind ~ it's not a formal skirt.  (Plus, again, I would have to hem it 4 -6 inches.)

If those shoes were flat, I would consider them flip flops too. Sandals if they had a heel

That's a good point and I agree, flip flops are more informal than a sandal.  The flip flops work with that Summer maxi dress too.

That's what I was thinking...since when did sandals become flip flops?

That is so cute and that's what comes to mind when I think of a maxi dress for Summer too - the length and all.

My girls and I were on the hunt for dresses for a baby shower we're going to next month, Target had a bunch of both maxi dresses and skirts.  The dress DD2 chose was shorter in the front and longer in the back, I don't know if you'd call it a maxi dress but it was trendy.  DD1's dress was more of an a-line knee topper with thick straps, she plans to team them up with her cowboy boots, Lol.

I don't recall anyone saying one couldn't wear a maxi skirt with flip flops. What was said was that one really couldn't wear a particular cashmere maxi skirt with flip flops. I love how you (and your two cohorts) always want to debate things that haven't been said.

Talk about debating what's not been said, Lol...  But actually, there is no rule book about cashmere and what it should or shouldn't be teamed up with, Nice flip flops would look good with the donna karan skirt from last week and it's clear from that pic then that the skirt is a transitional one and can be worn for different seasons.  Now if you were to argue what kind of body would look good in a skirt like that I think you'd be onto something, Not everybody can wear a pencil thin skirt like that....
