1. Do you eat corned beef and cabbage for St. Patrick's Day?

2. Do you watch or are you and/or your children in a St. Patrick's Day parade?

3. Will you be wearing green?

They are trying to teach the other family how to experience different ways of raising their families from what they are currently doing. I don't think it fully works how they show it does in the end with every family as I am sure it is edited very much so.

I don't know about being scripted but they use editing to get just the story that they want. Every one on the show fits a stereotype and they use editing to maximize that stereotype.

I imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is because they sense, once hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with pain.

I've only ever seen one or two of episodes of Wife Swap, and I have to admit that I found it interesting in a "can't look away from the train wreck" sort of way. The episode I know I saw was with a totally scary uber-evangelical Christian who positively FREAKED OUT while living with a pagan family or an atheist family (something like that).

I don't remember much except the image of this woman standing with her eyes bulging out and screaming all sorts of things regarding hell and damnation like she was trying to drive demons out of the kids. Sca-ry. And I know that there is editing, but when crazy is really there, all you have to do is point and shoot, LOL.

I do kind of wonder what would be the opposite of my family.

I once asked my kids if I were on the show what characteristic of mine when they latch on to. They informed me I was too normal to be on the show.

That was one of the most unforgettable ones. Her oldest daughter who owned the dance studio and had the young daughter actually got killed in a car accident
