In honor of encouraging DGS2 to hang on a few more days, here's some baby/childbirth fluff.

1.  Were any of your children born during or immediately following a storm or other major weather event?

2. Were your babies/was your baby born early, on time, late?

3. Is your current weather more like the midwest/Deep South/East Coast (cold as crap and possibly snowy) or Sochi, Russia (warm, sunny, dry)?

4. What were your arrangements for older kids when you (as applicable) had younger children?

BONUS QUESTION:  Guess who's about to be Gramma Jzy for the 2nd time in the next week or two?

1. No storms when John was born, but the weather took a decided hard turn from a nice warm Indian summer in Germany to cold, wet, rainy fall.

2. John was 2.5 weeks early.

3. Shockingly, it's an awful lot like the East Coast's current weather :D

4. N/A (It's not always about me :D )

Bonus: No clue ;)

1. There was a blizzard going on while I was at the hospital having DD2 (had not started when we left for the hospital).  The next day the hospital commander had to walk to work because his kids were playing with the snow shovels the day before and they got buried in the snow. We were told to hang up our towels for re-use because they did not know when they would get clean linens.  There was no in house kitchen,  they got meals from the base dining hall,.  they had to send an ambulance to get them.

2.  DD1 was born 2 weeks prior to her due date,  DD2. one week and DD3 5 days. All were full term.

3, Neither, cold,  sunny and dry.

4.  In both cases a friend watched them.  In the first case she also ran a home day care.

Geez let me thing.  Other happy news good friends are going to  be grandparents for the first time in June.

No, My daughters are Summer babies and DS was due 12/25 and came two days later.  I will say I was worried about his impending birth b/c where we lived then is notorious for bad winters and I was afraid he'd come in the middle of a snow storm or something, He was born on a beautiful day which was unusual for Iowa in December, I remember it being in the 60s.  DD1 was induced 14 days late, DD2 came naturally ten days after her due date.  It's cold.  DH's sister watched DD1 when DD2 was born, Our neighbor watched the girls when DS was born.  Congrats!

Cold and more snow, ice, rain tomorrow

My dd stayed with my sister and her husband from about 5pm to the next morning as my ds was born at 10:34pm.

1.  Were any of your children born during or immediately following a storm or other major weather event? Nope

2. Were your babies/was your baby born early, on time, late? Exactly on her due date, although the labor started 2 days before.

3. Is your current weather more like the midwest/Deep South/East Coast (cold as crap and possibly snowy) or Sochi, Russia (warm, sunny, dry)? Sochi weather here the last day or two.

4. What were your arrangements for older kids when you (as applicable) had younger children? We only have one, but her twin cousins were born 2 days before her, so DH was babysitting the older brother of the twins when I went into labor. Bad timing ;)

In honor of encouraging DGS2 to hang on a few more days, here's some baby/childbirth fluff.

1.  Were any of your children born during or immediately following a storm or other major weather event?

Yes, the child born in the  middle of winter.  I was also born in the middle of winter and an ice storm.

Oldest was born the day after he was due and the youngest was born 4 days before his due date.

3. Is your current weather more like the midwest/Deep South/East Coast (cold as crap and possibly snowy) or Sochi, Russia (warm, sunny, dry)?

Cold, snowy and cold.  It is supposed to warm up into the low 30's today!

4. What were your arrangements for older kids when you (as applicable) had younger children?

Grandparents.

BONUS QUESTION:  Guess who's about to be Gramma Jzy for the 2nd time in the next week or two?

1.  Were any of your children born during or immediately following a storm or other major weather event? -- No. Both my kids are heat-of-the-summer babies.  But, when I was pregnant with both of them, VB got hit with one of the worst snow/ice storms they'd seen in a decade.  People blamed it on my uterus.

2. Were your babies/was your baby born early, on time, late? -- right on time.  The Girl was born 1 day before her due date.  The Boy was induced on my due date.

3. Is your current weather more like the midwest/Deep South/East Coast (cold as crap and possibly snowy) or Sochi, Russia (warm, sunny, dry)? -- in between. We had the former yesterday, and will have the latter tomorrow through the weekend. Today is transition day.

4. What were your arrangements for older kids when you (as applicable) had younger children? -- When The Boy was born, xMIL flew in and stayed with The Girl.

BONUS QUESTION:  Guess who's about to be Gramma Jzy for the 2nd time in the next week or two? -- Ummm, Merope Gaunt Riddle?

Roll's answer to #4 reminds me of the birth of a friend. My parent's best friend and his wife were expecting. I stayed the night with them one night, just for the fun of it, and his wife went into labor early, unexpectedly, in the wee hours of the morning. So when I got up the next morning, his nephew was there instead of them. Freaked me out a little at first, but I knew the nephew too, so it wasn't like he was a stranger. My parents came to get me not long after I woke up. I just recently reconnected with their son - the boy born that night - on FB, and it's been great rehashing old times. Our fathers are both gone now, so it's been a sentimental journey.
