In honor of encouraging DGS2 to hang on a few more days, here's some baby/childbirth fluff.

1.  Were any of your children born during or immediately following a storm or other major weather event?

2. Were your babies/was your baby born early, on time, late?

3. Is your current weather more like the midwest/Deep South/East Coast (cold as crap and possibly snowy) or Sochi, Russia (warm, sunny, dry)?

4. What were your arrangements for older kids when you (as applicable) had younger children?

BONUS QUESTION:  Guess who's about to be Gramma Jzy for the 2nd time in the next week or two?

1) No, but one of them was born on Groundhog Day, and she sure as heck saw her shadow that day.

2) First one on time.  Second one, 8 days late.  First grandchild, 2 days late--but that's how long dd was in labor!!

3) I'm in Chicago.  Cold as crap & snowy.

4) Went to Grandma, just like my granddaughter will when her sister comes.

Bonus) I'm guessing...YOU!

Oh ugh.  I have tons of family in the Chicago area (Joliet/Plainfield/New Lenox).  Every time I feel sorry for how bad winter has been this year in Maryland, I think about them.

And yay! You win the bonus! :D

1.  Were any of your children born during or immediately following a storm or other major weather event?

Nope.

2. Were your babies/was your baby born early, on time, late?

DD was 17 days early, and DS was 5 days early.

3. Is your current weather more like the midwest/Deep South/East Coast (cold as crap and possibly snowy) or Sochi, Russia (warm, sunny, dry)?

It's cold and we're supposed to get 2-4 inches of snow tonight.

4. What were your arrangements for older kids when you (as applicable) had younger children?

DD stayed with MIL when I was in the hospital.

BONUS QUESTION:  Guess who's about to be Gramma Jzy for the 2nd time in the next week or two?

Yay!

1.  Were any of your children born during or immediately following a storm or other major weather event? Weather was ok for both.  A major heat wave the month before dd2 was born, which was not enjoyable to live wihout electiricty being 8 months pregnant.

2. Were your babies/was your baby born early, on time, late?  Both were 2 weeks early.

3. Is your current weather more like the midwest/Deep South/East Coast (cold as crap and possibly snowy) or Sochi, Russia (warm, sunny, dry)?  It's more like regular Alaska weather, cold around 0, no snow in the forecast.

4. What were your arrangements for older kids when you (as applicable) had younger children?  My mom came for the whole month of due date 4000 miles to where we were living to stay with us.  Dd1 stayed home with her while we were at the hospital.  Good thing she came for the whole month, since dd2 was just as early as dd1!

BONUS QUESTION:  Guess who's about to be Gramma Jzy for the 2nd time in the next week or two?  Yeah, I hope it's Jzy!

1.  Were any of your children born during or immediately following a storm or other major weather event?

It may have actually been snowing when we were driving to the hospital.  For some reason that rings a bell with me, but it was a long time ago and I had other things on my mind at the time.

2. Were your babies/was your baby born early, on time, late?

He showed up at just under 35 weeks.

3. Is your current weather more like the midwest/Deep South/East Coast (cold as crap and possibly snowy) or Sochi, Russia (warm, sunny, dry)?

Cold as crap and, in my brother's words, expecting between 0 and 30 inches of snow.  (Depends on who you listen to)

4. What were your arrangements for older kids when you (as applicable) had younger children?

They had already planned to spend the weekend at Grandma's house when Joel decided to show up.  That was awfully convenient, since we weren't exactly planning for him to show up for another month and all the drama happened in the middle of the night.

BONUS QUESTION:  Guess who's about to be Gramma Jzy for the 2nd time in the next week or two?

I don't know.  Who?  ;)

1.  Were any of your children born during or immediately following a storm or other major weather event?

Both of my kids were born during rather unseasonable weather. My daughter was born during a heatwave in early June, and my son was born when the temp was 8F with a windchill below zero. Fortunately, they were born indoors.

2. Were your babies/was your baby born early, on time, late? D was over a week late and had to be evicted with oxytocin. S was 3 days early.

3. Is your current weather more like the midwest/Deep South/East Coast (cold as crap and possibly snowy) or Sochi, Russia (warm, sunny, dry)?  It's frigid here and the storm that's hitting the south today is expected up here tomorrow, only with heavy snow instead of ice.

4. What were your arrangements for older kids when you (as applicable) had younger children? Dropped D off at a neighbor's house, then went to the hospital to have my son. Our passive-aggressive nanny showed up later. She worked for us for 6 more months until I could no longer take the crazy and let her go.

1. No.

2. DD was 10 days late. DS was 10 days early.

3. Sochi would be like a tropical vacation in comparison.

4. I don't remember where dd during ds' birth. Maybe it was my mom? I remember dh bringing her up to the hospital after delivery.

Congrats :  D

I had Spring babies, no weather issues, no drama, born within 48 hrs of their due dates. Older one slept right through birth of younger. Weather here resembles weather on Neptune.  And congrats to Grandma Jzy and the lucky baby for choosing such an awesome family!
