Lol, hot and sticky and rain on and off expected here.  Three for Saturday:

What are your Labor Day plans?

What school goal do you have for your kids if any...

What were you doing at 16?
(did you have a job?  were you driving?  etc.)

Little bit late:

What are your Labor Day plans?

Unpacking and laundry, getting kids ready to go back to school

What school goal do you have for your kids if any...

To do the best they can and enjoy what they are doing in life

What were you doing at 16?
(did you have a job?  were you driving?  etc.)

Having fun with my friends. I got my permit this year but no car until graduation 2 years later

Busy weekend with the start of high school sports, working on some home projects and a couple of bbq's and a birthday celebration tossed into the mix. My goals are more big picture as my kids are older but for the oldest would be to make a choice on where he wants to go to college. For the younger, to figure out where he wants to visit for college in the next couple of years. So basically the goal at the moment because of their current ages is college. Driving, had a job and going to school.

Good luck with the SAT to your DS, There are a couple programs at my kids' school that help in tutoring and preparing kids for the SAT here too. My 10th grader is signed up for it, it was a non-negotiable. Lol.

I expect college to be a natural progression for our kids too.

What are your Labor Day plans?

My sister and I went to the outlet mall today.  Tomorrow, I plan to do nothing.

What school goal do you have for your kids if any...

I hope both of my kids go to college.

What were you doing at 16?
(did you have a job?  were you driving?  etc.)

In June, when I was about to turn 17, I got my driver's license, because I had a job at the University Health Sciences Center in my town.

Hanging low, met up with friends yesterday and for dinner last night, might watch fireworks tonight, usual things like church.  Glad the kids and me are off tomorrow, woot!  That DD1 meet her fullest potential, That DD2 soar and grow in advocating for herself, She made great strides last year and I hope that continues.  That DS maintain great grades esp in his favorite subject science and math, He really likes school and I'm all about warming up to teachers who share that passion.  I worked at this italian market/pizzeria the Summer of my 16th year, I did not work during the school year.  I was a junior and did not learn to drive until I was 17.  I was on the swim team, I don't remember much about school but I do remember one teacher, Ms. G who taught math, she later became the principal at Seton.  My friends were on the swim team with me and we did things together after meets.

It's sticky and gross here, but we might go to this: http://kingrichardsfaire.net/ either after church tomorrow or on Monday. We used to go every year, and my son has been begging to go this year, but it's expensive--they nickel and dime you for everything, even after the admission charge-- rather boring, and there's never anything new. Plus, there are a lot of West Nile and EEE-carrying mosquitos in Carver, so we'll have to douse ourselves in stinky DEET before we go down. Can you tell how excited I am??

My school goals for my kids are that 1) my daughter will be happy with her eclectic choice of classes (freshman year in college) and that 2) my son will narrow down a few college choices, so that we can book a trip to visit them in the spring. I also hope he will study for the SAT so that he can do well and will therefore have more choices.

At 16, I was working out 4 hours a day (swimmer), going to high school, and I think I got my license at about 16 1/2.

1. House projects, catching up on reading for classes, celebrating a family birthday. 2. None. My kids are of an age to have heir own goals. 3. Going to a school, working as a waitress, hanging out with my boyfriend, and church youth activities, mostly.

What are your Labor Day plans? -- We're going to the aquarium and out to dinner on Monday.  The rest of the weekend is just normal stuff.

What school goal do you have for your kids if any... -- For this year? Or in general?  Decent grades for the most part.  The Girl might take the ACT again.  We're doing college visits and applications for The Girl.

What were you doing at 16? -- Working for my parents at the theatre, I was a cheerleader, I was on the speech/debate team, I had a license but no car
(did you have a job?  were you driving?  etc.)
