1. Playing capture the flag with all the neighborhood kids every night. A close second: the 2 weeks my family spent every summer in a tiny cabin on a lake. 2. Summer is pretty much over for us. We had to cut our vacation short because DD1 broke her collarbone, and the girls have MS/HS prep starting late next week. 3. We have a favorite, remote camping spot that we try to go to once every summer. It's incredibly beautiful and peaceful.

Playing games with siblings and neighborhood kids.

Went to Houston to see the Astros. Next weekend we are moving DD3. We took our big vacation back in Feb.

I don't have the love of summer I did in the past. The heat makes it hard to enjoy the outside and it is a crazy time at work.

our family used to rent out a park lodge for family reunions every summer, those have pretty much been replaced with my sister's annual labor day parties now, she is incredible and her party company grows and grows every year.

i'm sorry to hear about your daughter and hope she's better.

7th grade is when they introduce modified sports at our middle school and DD2 has said she wants to try cross country, those practices start in the next couple weeks.
