"There are a lot of threats nowadays that were non-existent in the olden days. You have the right to your opinion but don't stand in the way of anybody that wants to worship the sun or smoke in front of their kids b/c you'd be in violation of human rights." ----------- No, they existed then too. It was just that people didn't know how dangerous certain things were. It is not an "opinion" that sun burns and cigarette smoke are dangerous to kids.

I go to the lake and the beach all the time. I just use precautions and don't deliberately tan. You can enjoy the water and the sun I. Moderation without being stupid.

"You don't go to your local pool, beach or such much, do you?" ------- Like I said, most beaches I have been to here have umbrellas. But no, now that I don't have to take the kid anymore (many years already), there is no reason for me to go.

My parents both smoked from a young age and only one died of lung cancer. Mom died of something else. I agree they are both equally dead now, but Daddy died a horrible death before his 60th birthday, and maybe if he hadn't smoked he'd have lived another decade, who knows. I feel bad all the time that he never got to meet my kids and vice versa. Lung cancer from smoking is a horrible and stupid way to die.

The "majority" of kids survived? That's your argument? The "majority" of kids are surviving in Syria today, too. I still wouldn't want to have to raise my kids in Aleppo right now.

So you DO see people tanning then, right?

When I find that little clip, I will attach it for you.

I seldom see people "laying out" at the lake, more so at the beach if I go when other people are out. I never said people don't deliberately tan, just that it is rather stupid to do so.
