1. Does your home have CAC or AC Units?

2. Does your job now, or any job you ever had, have early days off in the Summer?

3. What is the most romantic thing anyone has done for you?

That and the strategic use of wood blinds and curtains (closed when the sun is on the window, open when not) can keep just about any house tolerable.  Yesterday and the day before, with daytime highs in the 90s, the house stayed right at 82.  Toasty, but not heat stroke territory.  And the basement has been a nice constant 72, so when I have trouble sleeping, I head down there.

Yup, good blinds are important!

What don't I debate and why the snide remark about me again, bord?

Who?  I wish they would fix the log in/out issues, seems like there are a number of us having trouble with those issues.

Yes, we know the divorce statistics. It's just that among our friends, marriage longevity is much more common than not. Most of our friends have long since crlebrated their silver anniversary.

That is great, truly. I LOVE to hear stories like that especially in this day of people divorcing because they left they left toothpaste in the sink. (and NO I do not know someone like that but the point is people get divorced way too easily now instead of realizing that marriage is work and putting up with stupid things like that).

"What don't I debate?' ------------- Jams, there is a thread on private vs public, where several people have responded to you. You, however, seem to have bailed on the discussion, which is something you seem to do habitually.

Does your home have CAC or AC Units? we have central air and I LURRRVE it!

2. Does your job now, or any job you ever had, have early days off in the Summer? I've always worked in arts and culture where summer is a bit slower so I can come and go as I please.. I leave early quite a bit and take lots of extra days off... but my world is very different from the for profit world..there's alot more flexibility and very little clock punching.

3. What is the most romantic thing anyone has done for you? When my sister passed away I had to go to Maryland for five days for funeral services, my now wife was at the time courting me,  when I came back she brought me a homeade mac 'n cheese casserole and a homeade chicken and mushroom risotto with a note that said "I can't fill that hole in your heart from the loss of your sister but maybe this can fill that hole in your tummy..."   to this day, ten years later  when the chips are down and I feel defeated  I ask her for one of those two dishes.   I love her. so.. much.

OH no bord, that couldn't be possible because that would constantly contradict her judgements of others and make one look quite silly.

Sure you did, I quoted the words for you in my post, here they are again.

<<Thanks Bord. I am a lucky girl no matter what "strangers" think.

Yep "strangers" on a messageboard who don't know me IRL.

From the relationships I see from others IRL, I have a lot to be happy about and I count my blessings every day>>

And? I SEE what my friends and family go through on a daily basis. I am truly blessed with my marriage and it is hard to find one like mine anymore. Is it out there, OF COURSE and I DO know many friends and family who are JUST like us. Are we in the majority though, nope. In 25 years I can't even COUNT the amount of break ups and divorces I have seen with friends, family, coworkers, etc.

I don't know, you are the only one who constantly mentions what's on her facebook...I figured it was pretty important for you to constantly mention what happens on facebook over here in ivillage.
