1. Have you watched any of the World Cup games?

Yes, many.

2. When you have moved before, did you move yourself or hire a moving company?

Moved ourselves.

3. Did you do anything good this weekend?

Friday night dd went to class at the library and a good friend came over so got to spend some time with him for a little bit. Went to a graduation party yesterday while dd went to another one. Did food shopping today, laundry, things around the house.

1.  No. 2.  All DIY moves 3.  Not much.  Some yard work, some baking for a celebration tomorrow, laundry, reading, a little sewing.  We have two more nights before I leave on an extended business trip, and when I come home my kid will have moved out and we'll be starting the empty nest journey, so we've been quietly savoring the time together.

Yes but we don't get complete coverage here.  We've been spoiled with moving companies at the cost of the employer, We only did one local move ourselves and it was a disaster, Lol.  DD1 horseback, Took DD1 shopping for new boots, Kids and I went to the pool on Friday, Dinner out with DH on Friday, Dinner out with the whole family yesterday b/c I was too lazy to cook, Usual today, church and all.

ETA Congrats to Germany although I was rooting for the underdogs, Argentina!  Ha!

1. No

2. All  my moves have been military moves.  They provide moving companies or give you the option of moving yourself, called a DITY (Do It Yourself)  move and paying you 75% of what they would pay a commercial mover.  We did one  DITY move but it did not work as well as we expected.  We had a lot of help at the end where we were moving out but none at the other end as we did not know any one.  Moving in was accomplished by DH, myself, 12 year old, 10 year old and 6 year old.  When we did our final move when DH retired we did a partial DITY.  Anything that I could pack in a box we moved.  Professionals moved the furniture and appliances.  Worked much better.

The last time that DD2 moved and on DD3s move next weekend we are doing another variation.  We did the packing and loading but hired professionals to do the unloading.   We did it with DD2 because she was moving from a 2nd floor apartment to a 3rd floor apartment 45 minutes away.  It it much easier to move down stair than up stairs and by the time we got down there it would be the heat of the day plus we did not know how many of her friends that she had to help would be able to make the trip down.  It worked so well we are doing it for DD3.  She is only moving a few blocks but  from a single story house to a two story town house. So we have the carrying issue plus the heat issue as we are starting the hit the 100s.

3. Went on a nice 5+ mile  walk, a great bike ride and saw the new Transformer movie.

1.  God, no.

2.  When I was in the military, we had movers.  Since then I haven't but after the move to this house 3 years ago, any subsequent move (which will not be until I retire) with either be with professional movers, or I'm selling all my furnishings and buying new at the new place.  As it is, at least some of these cats are going to have to die between now and retirement, because I am NOT hauling six "wailing Willies" in the car to Florida :D

3. Not according to you :D but for me it was a productive day--I finished all the main blocks to my pink/purple/grey baby quilt using patterns from the Vintage Quilt Revival book.  Now I just have to make the setting squares (because I'm setting the blocks on point), but that will be a simple strip piecing job that shouldn't take more than a day to get done.  And I assembled the queen extensions to my Mariner's Compass quilt--but I still need to buy a folding banquet table to hold the mass of the quilt while I sew them on.  After that, I spent the rest of the day parked in front of the TV, clearing out the backlog on my DVR while I worked on some counted cross stitch.

1.  No

2.  I've done both,  The last time was a DIY move.  I think the best moving experience was when we had 2 PODS units.  It was a deal where we were storing for a few weeks between houses, so it was the perfect solution.  I'd do it again even in different circumstances, though,  It was great to be able to pack it up leisurely, and then have the units just magically arrive at my new front door.

3.  Did some good stuff.  Had a massage yesterday, took my mom to dinner today, then hung out with her and my sister afterward.

We have never used a PODS unit for a move but a couple of years ago when we had renovations done in which we had to empty almost the entire we had one put in our driveway.  So much easier than moving everything to a storage unit,
