1. It's very late but I spent much of Sunday in the car, driving from one western Canadian city to another. Had a lovely dinner in Saskatoon, and walked down by the river. 2. I have flowers all over the yard, and herbs and peppers. I love lilacs, peonies, and roses. I have clematis clibing on everything. Love daisies, too. I also love astilbe, hydrangeas, and really, just about anything that blooms. 3. Generally I like to have people over, but sometimes it's fun to go out.

Just a slight change in today's plans.... We've been doing a bedroom makeover for my friend's dd who is battling cancer. I spent the afternoon with another lady, deciding how we are going to *dress up* the windows and new bed. Now, I get to do a bit of online shopping, and will go out tomorrow to finish the project.

We have some local favorites that we go to on a semi regular basis. mostly because we all know each other there and it's familiar.  Plus there is great music!

We have had sp parties and usually go to one every year, same for the world series.  My kids are both big into watching movies so they have and go to movie parties on a regular basis, they both belong to the movie club at school too.  We love movies as a family as well, tv show, not so much....unless it's Walking Dead, lol.  They also have xbox parties in person and on line.  But...my boys are very physically active becasue of their sports teams and practices (as are their friends) so they aren't just watching movies and playing xbox all day every day in the summer or on the weekends.  If they weren't active, I would change my thinking on the subject.

Any exciting plans for the day?

No, cancelled because of the rain so now I must catch up on emails and unpack.  :(

Do you garden? What are your favorite plants?

Yes, I have some beautiful rose bushes, love my herbs and I like all of the annuals that I plant each year.  We also have a big veggie garden, blackberries and grapes but I don't handle any of that.

Would you rather entertain at home or go out with friends?

Either, I'm good with both.

Any exciting plans for the day?

Not really. Did food shopping, have a load of laundry in and maybe go do some summer clothes shopping.

Do you garden? What are your favorite plants?

No, just plant flowers. I planted petunia's and begonias this year.

Would you rather entertain at home or go out with friends?

I enjoy both

Any exciting plans for the day? -- Yes! I fly to Austin this afternoon for a quick work trip. Will be meeting two colleagues that I adore (both men! GASP!) and one that I"ve only met once or twice.  Our regional conference (which, as Vice Chair, I'm in charge of) is in Austin next April, so we're doing a site visit at the hotel.  One of the guys I'm meeting is "local", so he has picked out a great local restaurant for us to have dinner at.

Do you garden? What are your favorite plants? -- Kinda.  I'm not doing a garden this year - last year's drought and extreme heat resulted in basically no harvest ... after a lot of hard work.  So I got real demotivated when it comes to the garden.  So, this year I'm concentrating on the front  yard.   While I like the look of a lot of bright flowers, I don't like the work. So I do only perennials.  My beds in the front contain irises, hostas, sedums, and a few lillies.  They are all things we can run down with the mower in September and they come back beautifully in April.

Would you rather entertain at home or go out with friends? -- I don't know if I have a preference.  I truly enjoy doing both pretty equally.

the only time we go out to a 'bar' is when we go to our favorite gay bars for dancing or singalong nights- usually it's dinner or just a drink at a wine bar...

" I don't mind going out once in a while, especially to see live music, but most of the time the loud bar scene exhausts me." I don't care for the bar scene. It's loud and difficult to carry on any sort of real conversation. We often go to dinner, or when the kids were little, other mom's and I would take them to the park, where kids could run and adults could sit and visit.
