Any exciting plans for the day?

Do you garden? What are your favorite plants?

Would you rather entertain at home or go out with friends?

On Wednesdays we wear pink.

Any exciting plans for the day? No, not really. It is very quiet here today, so just taking it easy and finishing a summer dress for myself.

Do you garden? What are your favorite plants? No, I am not good with plants, but dh gardens and is good at it. He has herbs, but also bougainvilla, a lemon tree and a small olive tree.

Would you rather entertain at home or go out with friends? In theory, I prefer to cook for people myself, but I do not enjoy the clean-up. I have been on the look-out for a maid who can come in the evenings to do the serving and cleaning up, but no luck so far, so we go out usually.

Any exciting plans for the day?

Playing ball against my oldest's ball team. Moms vs Kids--super excited about that. If we get rained out, I'll likely take the kids roller skating.

Do you garden? What are your favorite plants?

I dabble in it--I'm learning as I go. Hydrangeas are my absolute favorites, followed closely by lavender. The benefit to our rainy spring is that my gardens are going nuts right now, in the very best sort of way...

At home. I love having friends over and grilling in the summer. Or the moms over for Moms Night In... My sis is coming to town this week and I can not wait to spend some time w/her and her kiddos.

A friend sent me a bouganvilla for my 30th bday. I eventually killed it, but I LOVED that plant!!! I'm much better w/outdoor plants than houseplants. Although I've got a pineapple plant that survived the winter indoors (barely) and is back out on the deck.

They vastly improve the view.

I do. We don't have the climate here for them. ;) Although I'm quite proud of the gardenia I've managed to keep alive for THREE summers. I was told by a green thumb that it is an annual here, but it keeps coming back for me! I've also got a gardenia tree on the patio that isn't doing so well ATM, tho. I think w/all the rain, I need to drill more drainage into that pot... I love gardenias, too. I love honeysuckle too, but not all the bees it brings. So none of that in the yard...

It's gorgeous today. Morning Church, afternoon sail, dinner with family tonight.

Do you garden? What are your favorite plants?

A little, we have impatiens for color, and vegetable and fruit garden. We're trying to restore the grapevines that we discovered on the edge of our property last year.

Would you rather entertain at home or go out with friends?

Both - During the summer, we entertain a lot, but I like to go out too.

Yes, we are ceebrating DD3s birthday/Father's Day this evening.

No, that is DH's thing.

Both equally, depending on the circumstances.

1. My plans are only exciting to other quilters :)  I have about 35 yards of fabric to wash, dry and fold for the stash. I have to run to Target for plastic bins, because my current storage capacity won't manage this :)  I'd also like to pull out some fabrics to test as a border for a set of quilt blocks I finished at the TOGA yesterday, and then put up my design wall to work on layout for some exchange blocks I have from the past 5 TOGAs--I finally have enough for a lap quilt.  :D  Like I said, it's only exciting to other quilters :)

2. Yes, I do.  I actually love all the plants in my garden.  Well, okay, I only really like my bleeding heart when it's in bloom, but it's nearly yellow enough to cut it it back now.  My favorites?  hmmmm, such a hard question. I love my day lilies. And my begonias.  and my peonies.  And lilies of the valley.  And my gladiolas.  And I especially love my rose. I'd love to get two yellow roses to plant on either side of my red rose.

3.  I like to have people over, but I also love to go out. I have never had people over just to watch TV, tho.  Not that I object to such gatherings--I do go to other people's homes for that. But it's not the sort of thing I think of for entertaining.

Ds had two friends sleepover last night and dd had one, so probably the most exciting part of my day will be making them all a big breakfast and shuttling everyone home.

We have flowerboxes lining most of the house and my goal has been to make them as low-maintenance as possible with tulips, irises, peonies in the spring, lilies and hostas for summer, evergreen bushes and English ivy for year-round green. I love the ivy. My longer-term plan is to have dh make some rustic window shutters and flower boxes so we can make the house look more charming and give a little pop of color with annuals in the summer.

I've never planted a vegetable garden, though I've done tomatoes and peppers in pots.

I love peonies. Partially because I love the massive flower, and partially because they were my great-grandmother's favorite and she had this weird way of pronouncing the word in her thick accent.

If I want to spend time with people and enjoy their conversation, I prefer to stay home. We just had a couple over Friday night and while I don't prepare exotic dishes, we had a lovely evening filled with food, wine, and interesting discussion. I don't mind going out once in a while, especially to see live music, but most of the time the loud bar scene exhausts me. Plus, bar wine in my area sucks and I'm not really into drinking beer or liquor.
