I once had a near stranger (who was a friend of my SIL and knew thru her about our difficulties ttc) suggest to me that perhaps if I gained a little weight, I might get pregnant. Seriously. She said that to me. She's not a doctor. Had no idea where the infertility was coming from. Just thought maybe I needed to fatten up a bit.

My weight had NOTHING to do w/my infertiity. But that didn't stop her from her ever-so-helpful suggestion... And I've been asked on multiple occasions if I have an eating disorder. To which I always point out that I'm perfectly within a normal weight range for my height. But yeah, I've had many, many comments made...

So the t-pie is the dessert equivalent of a big mac, no? Appalling.

"Wow, I mean on an internet board it's pretty easy to hide behind a screen name with rude comments but to do so in person?" --------- Many people, on and off the web, lack proper filters and some basic decency towards their fellow humans. Heavy people also get subjected to a lot of rudeness by some.

"Oh man ... according to food.com, their twinkle cake recipe has 996 calories per serving, and 83 grams of fat." ----------- Good heavens! Not that I would eat even if it were low-calorie, since I don't like that kind of thing, but almost a 1000 calories for a cheapo dessert? That is where I would so much rather spend that 1000 calories on a glass of wine, some fish, a slice of good bread, some olive oil on a fresh tomato salad etc.

<<The boxed helpers? I don't know who that is directed at. Although I do use Zatarain's beans and rice mixes fairly often. >>

There is a brand that sells a healthy organic version of the rice mixes that I keep for when dh has to put together meals, he's much better at those boxes than regular brown rice.

Jams, has it at all occurred to you to apologize for the eating disorder quip?

Manwich bad (Savcal) with 50 calorie, 10 gram of fat Manwich.

Twinkle cake (Spring) good with 996 calories per serving, and 83 grams of fat.

Nope no bias debating going on here....move along, don't read to closely.  Wink

Yes, I agree and now Manwhich seems to be a major issue.

Question--I don't you add Manwich to ground beef?  Is the 10 g of fat with the meat or without?

The Manwich sauce itself has 35 cals and 0 fat.
