T is for Turkey: do you brine it before roasting or not?

G is for Google: in the BTWG (Before There Was Google) era, how did you typically find answers to stuff?

I is for Idiot: what is something dumb you did lately?

F is for Fun: what is a recent fun thing you did?

<< I have never made a turkey so I have no idea.   I let other people do that and I just eat it. ;-)  (I am aces at bringing wine, clearing the table, loading the dishwasher and providing witty banter though)>>

The exact people I love to cook for!

I know, I know.  I have dialed it way back, I'm working on becoming a slacker volunteer mom.  :)

You should have sent them to me. I wouldn't let a little black pepper get in the way of delicious chocolate chip cookies!

No one was willing to try them, so they were trashed. Sadly.

"I put freshly-ground black peppercorn on top of chocolate chip cookies right out of the oven. I'd meant to sprinkle them with sea salt and grabbed the wrong grinder." --------- Ha! Nice one. How was it? My grandma used to grind green pepper on fresh strawberries, then soak them in red wine. It was good.

1. I tried an apple cider brine the last time I roasted a turkey, it wasn't bad. We're deep frying turkeys next week, so no brine.

2. I almost answered "Webcrawler." My family had a modem way back in 1993. Before that, the public library/school library.

3. I put freshly-ground black peppercorn on top of chocolate chip cookies right out of the oven. I'd meant to sprinkle them with sea salt and grabbed the wrong grinder.

4. I took a wee little one swimming last night.

"No, DH is on a sodium restricted diet so we do not add sodium to anything that he will be eating," ---------- Yeah, brining would not work in that case.
