What are you making for Thanksgiving?

Bonus:  Do you shop on Black Friday?  Any favorite stops?

"Here, I put the coffee and water in machine before bed, then the first one up in the morning turns on the machine." I used to do that when I was single. DH is a coffee snob and insists that the beans must be ground immediately before brewing. Yeah, I know.

It's not a dish. It's just a general slang term for potatoes.  So it can be baked taters, mashed taters, all sorts of things. In my post, however, I was referring to mashed potatoes.

"DH he always thanks me for making dinner." ------ Same here and we always thanked my mother or whoever else cooked. Same in my grandparents' house. It is also a custom in Scandinavia that the "host" - i.e. the person who cooked - formally ends the meal with "velbekomme," to which the others say "thank you for the meal."

What was the last thing you said thank you for/who was the last person you thanked?

I believe it was the toll taker, for taking my money.  That doesn't really sound like something to be thankful for, does it?LOL  This one older gentleman who works in one of the cash booths is my sole reason for not getting an EZ-Pass.  I would so miss seeing him every morning.

Who was the last person that said thank you to you?

My boss, for making him laugh.  He doesn't do enough of that these days.

What are you making for Thanksgiving?

Turkey breast (no one in our family eats dark meat, so we stopped serving whole turkeys sometime in the 70s), mashed potatoes, sweet potato puff (making it for lunch at my mom's but will probably do a small one for us to have with dinner), a couple of yet to be determined green veggies, corn pudding.  Will do something light for dessert.  No pies, since there's already a week's worth of carbs listed above.  ;)

Bonus:  Do you shop on Black Friday?  Any favorite stops?

No.  I did it once, but it really wasn't worth the effort.

What was the last thing you said thank you for/who was the last person you thanked?

This morning, one of the kids ran some energy off of our guest.

Who was the last person that said thank you to you?

This morning, a random stranger when I held the elevator door open.

What are you making for Thanksgiving?

Pies and some over the top cake for my kid who doesn't like pie.

Bonus:  Do you shop on Black Friday?  Any favorite stops?

No.

1.  Just a few minutes ago, I thanked the interns for answering the phone this morning, so that I can isolate myself.

2.  My friend, B, for letting my dd17 skip class today to hang out with her dd who is fighting cancer.

3.  MIL is hosting, but I am makeing mashed cauliflower, green beans and pies.

4.  Heavens NO.  I can't imagine that there will ever be anything that I want or need so badly as to go out in that craziness.

What was the last thing you said thank you for/who was the last person you thanked?  I thanked the manager at the customer service desk at the grocery store who refunded the $14 I was overcharged for turkey breasts I was buying that were on sale, though I didn't get the sale price.

Who was the last person that said thank you to you?  A friend of mine thanked me when I invited her daughter over to play with mine today, after I heard she was being mercilessly teased at school yesterday and today and was really upset.

What are you making for Thanksgiving?  My parents are hosting but I offered to bring a broccolini dish, sweet potato casserole (and no, it does NOT have marshmellows on top - it has a brown sugar/pecan topping), apple pie and pumpkin chiffon pie.  My parents are doing the rest.

Bonus:  Do you shop on Black Friday?  Any favorite stops?  I absolutely do not shop *in* stores on Black Friday but I do a lot of online shopping on Black Friday.  Apple has their once a year sale on Black Friday - 10% off.  I need to buy two iPads for school next year for my boys (being required for all middle schoolers at their school next year), so I will be taking advantage of their sale for sure this year.

Husband who cleared off the dinner table. Child's friend who I drove home today. Going over friend's house. Making dessert. I don't go out early, usually around noon and I still get the same deals at certain places.

What was the last thing you said thank you for/who was the last person you thanked?  I thanked DH for buying chocolate for me.

Who was the last person that said thank you to you?  Probably one of the kids for something or the other.

What are you making for Thanksgiving? We're going to MIL's house.  I'm making the pumpkin pies, and DH is making stuffing.

Bonus:  Do you shop on Black Friday?  Any favorite stops? Nope.
