The first holiday with the empty chair at the table is so hard. Love to you and your family.

I took it personally for years but now it amuses me.

Being amused is the best policy, as well as the best revenge ultimately.

I have the same kind of name. Misspelling from "strangers" don't bother me. But email is the one that really gets my goat. My name is in my email address (first.last). So they obviously spelled it right to put my address in, or they used the address lookup in our directory - either way my name is spelled RIGHT THERE! and they still get it wrong.

I spell mine ending in "ie" - and I always get it with a "y".

Looks like I will not be getting my normal 4 day weekend. I have to go in either Fri or SAt to get some work done that I cannot do during the week.

Before I started making the rolls for Thanksgiving, someone would always bring the brown and serve rolls.

I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week! I'm starting the day running a 5K Turkey Trot race then will be joining my family and neighbors down at our community beach for our annual turkey bowl game. This year, my parents are hosting Thanksgiving. My sister and her family will be here for the holidays. They are coming down from Ohio. My brother and his family live locally but they will be there too. My BIL loves to cook so I think my mom is going to have him prepare much of the meal since she is "over" cooking large meals. I love to cook too, but I'll just contribute things that I made in advance and bring with us - most likely a sweet potato dish and one other side dish, as well as 1-2 desserts. We don't have any plans the rest of the break and I'm looking forward to just hanging out together as family with nothing specifc to do. We've had a busy fall so looking forward to a few days of no scheduled plans.

We don't put Christmas decorations up until December. I usually do our outdoor lights the second weekend in December but we don't put our tree up until a week before Christmas.

That's my MIL's tradition-- burning the rolls. :)
