That is exactly why I like it. Anybody can join in, making it a very American holiday in fact and spirit.
The proper time for Thanksgiving dinner is whatever works best that year.
Home or away?
There will be 8 or 9 adults and 2 children. For me, that's small.
THat's small for me, too. We used to have 35-40 at my grandparents' for TG and Christmas, and they were the most wonderful times ever. After my grandfather died everyone scattered to the winds and ended up having their own, and then circumstances within my more immediate family made it so that Joel and I were pretty much on our own.
