The Remember When thread has me thinking about myself when I first came to iVillage and how much things have changed since then. Anybody else want to play?
I came to iVillage in the summer of 2000. I was 36 and working as HR Manager for an internationally-owned manufacturing company I was divorced with a 6 1/2-yr-old disabled son, and my ex had committed suicide a few months before. This was actually the event that led me to iVillage in the first place. I was one of those "Have to work" moms and was told by several when I first came here that I had no place in this debate because I had no choice.
Now, I'm 51 and my son is 21. For the past tnot-quite-ten years I've worked as the business manager for a small architecture firm. Eight years ago, I also absorbed the marketing coordinator's position. The job(s) and the company have been overwhelmingly stressful at times but have changed greatly over the past few years, due to economic/market and ownership changes. I am now in a very comfortable position within the company. I also no longer really have to work. My son is now in a position to offer to take care of things if I want to quit and take some time to figure out what I want to do. That offer has led me to the realization that despite the stress, long hours (which really isn't an issue anymore anyway) and frustration, I am already doing what I want to do. I'll be sticking around there.

Thanks for taking one for the team, friend.
That's great! All the more time for petty theft! If my husband had hobbies like your husband's hobbies, I wouldn't be bragging about all his free time. Maybe a little more work-y would = a little less stealing. Just sayin....
What was the date on your record you posted Queen, please do tell? How many YEARS ago was that? The hours are both IN and OUT side of the home so no, he is not running around doing other things with all his "free" time.
Oh? He's under house arrest? Wow. I bet he will rock that ankle bracelet at your NYE party!
Still no PM OR post. Ginger made up shit about my husband to try and make me look bad. I'm stunned...
Hmmm--I never got the message in which you "called me on my lying." But call me a liar for making a simple mistake all you want. I know the truth. And frankly, I have far more credibility as it relates to truth telling than you do. And you can post your proof on here. I think the Banshees are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to scope out your photoshop skills...
So how many years ago was that Queen?
I got a new computer. So all my old passwords that were saved on my old computer are gone. I created that account for the sole purpose of corresponding with you b/c I don't trust you any further than I can throw you. And in the words of the principal's secretary in a certain classic 80s flick, "And with your bad back, Ed, you really shouldn't be throwing anyone..."
I'll answer you when you post your proof, cookie.

I feel so special :)

Ha. Because it was so many years ago and you are posting it like it happened yesterday.
