The Remember When thread has me thinking about myself when I first came to iVillage and how much things have changed since then. Anybody else want to play?
I came to iVillage in the summer of 2000. I was 36 and working as HR Manager for an internationally-owned manufacturing company I was divorced with a 6 1/2-yr-old disabled son, and my ex had committed suicide a few months before. This was actually the event that led me to iVillage in the first place. I was one of those "Have to work" moms and was told by several when I first came here that I had no place in this debate because I had no choice.
Now, I'm 51 and my son is 21. For the past tnot-quite-ten years I've worked as the business manager for a small architecture firm. Eight years ago, I also absorbed the marketing coordinator's position. The job(s) and the company have been overwhelmingly stressful at times but have changed greatly over the past few years, due to economic/market and ownership changes. I am now in a very comfortable position within the company. I also no longer really have to work. My son is now in a position to offer to take care of things if I want to quit and take some time to figure out what I want to do. That offer has led me to the realization that despite the stress, long hours (which really isn't an issue anymore anyway) and frustration, I am already doing what I want to do. I'll be sticking around there.

And for the umpteenth time--notice that she has neither put up, nor shut up re: Paola and my DH.
Wait--so now you admit that it happened?
I denied any story as a report does NOT tell you the story. Just like someone is accusing Jams of a report. Do you know the story behind that either or are you just trying to make it into something it most likely is not?

Oh but someone being listed as a follower of someone's else twitter DOES tell you the story????
Again, hypocritical bitch.

If there is a story, it happened. Do you know the story behind the twitter follower or are you just trying to make it into something that it most ilkely is not?
