The Remember When thread has me thinking about myself when I first came to iVillage and how much things have changed since then. Anybody else want to play?
I came to iVillage in the summer of 2000. I was 36 and working as HR Manager for an internationally-owned manufacturing company I was divorced with a 6 1/2-yr-old disabled son, and my ex had committed suicide a few months before. This was actually the event that led me to iVillage in the first place. I was one of those "Have to work" moms and was told by several when I first came here that I had no place in this debate because I had no choice.
Now, I'm 51 and my son is 21. For the past tnot-quite-ten years I've worked as the business manager for a small architecture firm. Eight years ago, I also absorbed the marketing coordinator's position. The job(s) and the company have been overwhelmingly stressful at times but have changed greatly over the past few years, due to economic/market and ownership changes. I am now in a very comfortable position within the company. I also no longer really have to work. My son is now in a position to offer to take care of things if I want to quit and take some time to figure out what I want to do. That offer has led me to the realization that despite the stress, long hours (which really isn't an issue anymore anyway) and frustration, I am already doing what I want to do. I'll be sticking around there.

I am putting my thoughts into pictures so that even Jams can follow along...
Now THAT was worth the wait!

Sorry for the delay, having a problem with the file. Will try and make it into a jpeg tomorrow.
Y'all realize that she's going to keep this up until the board closes so that she can have one last day in the sun, right?
Oh yeah--its like I said, she's playing the "corrupted file" card like a crappy student. You should be used to that one, Professor! ;)
Woah..... I didn't see that coming! **sarcasm disclaimer**

You can ask Queen as I sent her files but she had a problem opening them. I sent a pdf file and a screen shot as well as a word document, how it was originally made. Can only do what I can do.

Sorry this site is not good with attachments. If you have any suggestions let me know. It is in a word document. Made into a pdf file, screen shot and a jpeg.
For a graphic artist, your tech/photo skills SUCK.
