You might be enlightened to learn how the French look at conditions like ADD/HD.  I find this as fascinating as those sights and smells you brag about, Lol.

<p>yes littlemiss- there was a sign instructing us to do so -- I guess so they can see your eyes and read your body language so you're not trying to scam them...it was hands down one fo the funniest experiences we've ever had.  We are such goobers.. when he told us what he could give us for the jewelry I was all "WOW! REALLY?" and my wife was all "way to play it cool there champ.."</p>

Thanks I was curious.  One of my schools put a sign on their door in the last couple months that says "Parents please remove your hoodies when you enter the building."  I'm still pondering that one.

<p>How about Thrift shop vs. Pawn shop????  There could be a rousing debate there.  Which of us here use either or both or wouldn't be caught dead in either/or?  Your opinion on whether using them or not makes you worldly.  Why would you shop there--like the deals?  Like the idea of re-using rather than buying new for some items?  Have you sold any items to a pawn shop and did you make any money?  Have you ever pawned anything and did you go get your item back?  Or did you find yourself going to a Thrift shop recently because you couldn't get the Mackelmore song out of your head?  : )</p>

I have been to both but my pawn shop experience is limited.  When I was in high school my dad bought me a typewriter from a pawn shop.   Apparently in his youth he had a lot of experience in pawn shops.  A year or so ago DH and I went to a local pawn shop.  Do not remember why exactly, I think we were looking for something (some type of tool I think) and he thought that might be a good source.

I get a lot of my work clothes at thrift stores.  I am really rough on them and prefer not to pay full price.

I've been to lots of thrift stores, love them.  I've never been to a pawn shop but as long as it was in a decent neighborhood, I wouldn't mind taking a peak, I just haven't been.
