What no teaching gig?  I'm teaching a class for free this summer, and supervising an internship.  Your sources are confused, Spring.

Yeah, it's basically volunteer work, since I'm not being compensated for it.  But that doesn't mean it takes any less time to teach.

One could also say that a professor with as much tenure and publishing cred as Board who has children that are young working adults with lives of their own might also be due how ever d*mn much relaxation she wants.   More power to her say I -- I for one LOVED your photos of your trip on FB Board-- you know... where we're friends.. :-)

Cool

Bord, HOW DARE YOU NOT LIKE DOWNTON ABBEY AND CANDY CRUSH? I mean, they are super popular. What do you have against them? Shouldn't I be free to like what I want to like? People like different things, doncha know?

Why, thank you, Bea.  The photos I have already posted are photos I took with my phone. For some reason my camera isn't talking to my computer right now so I can't upload the ones I took with the camera.   I've ordered an external card reader and am hoping that solves the problem!

That's great but everyone should have the choice on what they read and not be ridiculed for it.

Telling someone that you don't like a book that they have enjoyed is not ridiculing them.  There are lots of popular books that I don't like.  I tried to read a James Patterson book once, and I hated it.  I read the first Lee Child book, but didn't like it at all.  Most women I know just love Jane Austen, and Pride and Prejudice in particular.  I've tried to read it several times, but just can't get into it.  On the other hand, I read a fair amount of Nora Roberts and Sophie Kinsella  and Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse books which are devoid of any kind of literary merit, as well as other bestsellers that do have literary merit-- reading John Irving now, finished Kate Atkinson's new book a couple of weeks ago (one of the best books I've ever read), etc.
