2.  I have no idea.  I got to pick out most of my clothing as a child but of course did not pay for it.   When I did start buying my own clothing nothing sticks out.

3. I thnk it was an introduction.

4. Almostfreeof3.

5. A couple, do not want to state them because just the mention of old posts brings new life to them.

1.  What's the first news or event oI historical significance that you have a memory of? -- Hmmmmm. Probably the Bicentennial.  We hosted a big pig roast and had our own huge (professional) fireworks show.

2.  Describe the first item of clothing you remember picking out and buying for yourself. -- I really don't remember. I do remember wanting to wear my long pretty nightgown to school.

3.  Do you remember your first post on I-Village/ParentSoup/ParentsPlace?  What was it about? -- I have no earthly idea.

4.  Which former poster here do you miss the most? -- Mistyeyed/Wendy.

5.  Bonus:  Do you have an all-time favorite post that you still laugh about?  What was it? -- there have been too many over the years.  There isn't one in particular that stands out - at least not one that isn't recent.

1. Something to do with NASA and space. I remember watching it on our black and white tv. 2. It was in middle school, dickies pants were all the rage, lol. 3. I don't remember, but I've been here on and off for awhile. 4. CanadianTina, Mom24girls, and Suzymom are a few off the top of my head. 5. I don't think I could narrow it down to just one, there are many worth laughing over.

What's the first news or event oI historical significance that you have a memory of? Watergate Hearings because my mom and brother always wanted to cut our days at the country club pool short to run home to watch the hearings.  I remember my sister teaching me a song to remember "Halderman, Erlichman, Mitchell and Dean.." I think I was about 6?

2.  Describe the first item of clothing you remember picking out and buying for yourself. Gosh buying for myself?  I remember a gray skirt in high school ... it was just like a tan one my sister had and I saved and saved for it...

3.  Do you remember your first post on I-Village/ParentSoup/ParentsPlace?  What was it about? It would have been on the expecting club board for women due in May of 1999..that transitioned to our "playgroup" and now 15 years later a core group of about 20 of us are still fast friends with a private FB group and I"ve met many of the moms in real life. it's been neat to watch our kids grow up together!

4.  Which former poster here do you miss the most? hmmm  TM, Bliss , and their buddies whose screen names I don't remember and I don't want to post their real names.  And while I don't miss her I do remember the way CLW2 used to liven things up with her militant working mom posts... she was a howler

5.  Bonus:  Do you have an all-time favorite post that you still laugh about?  What was it? Oh so many...but I remember one poster who didn't like me being gay and kept telling me she'd pray for me and I just kept tellign her 'thank you! we can all use more prayers"  and it just got her so flummoxed that i wouldn't fight with her...

1.  What's the first news or event oI historical significance that you have a memory of?

When Reagan was shot

2.  Describe the first item of clothing you remember picking out and buying for yourself.

I think it was the summer before 7th grade and I did a lot of baby sitting for my aunt.  At the end of the summer, as payment, she took me to St. Louis to a small boutique and allowed me to spend $100 on back to school clothes.  The outfit I remember the most was black leggings with a long green paisley button down top.

3.  Do you remember your first post on I-Village/ParentSoup/ParentsPlace?  What was it about?

I found iVillage in November of 1998 right after I had a miscarriage.  I posted to a miscarriage support board.

4.  Which former poster here do you miss the most?

I still wonder whatever happened to Maxchandler.

5.  Bonus:  Do you have an all-time favorite post that you still laugh about?  What was it?

The great pool cover debate was pretty entertaining.

Just noticed the registration date of Oct 2008 posted by my user name.  I guess I must have registered for ivillage not long after I found out I was pregnant and before the miscarriage.

1.  What's the first news or event oI historical significance that you have a memory of? We were in the country and the neighbors (he was a math professor) invited us over to watch the moon landing on TV (we did not have a TV).

2.  Describe the first item of clothing you remember picking out and buying for yourself. Sewing class at school, 5th grade or so. We had to sew a tunic, and the teacher had picked out a hideous yellow fabric with purple flowers. I made my mom buy me a blue and white stripes fabric instead. Didn't help much though. The tunic was horrible all the same.

3.  Do you remember your first post on I-Village/ParentSoup/ParentsPlace?  What was it about? Yes! Max Chandler took my cherry, so to speak, and the discussion was about how she kept her 4 or 5yo in a stroller. I was horrified.

4.  Which former poster here do you miss the most? Oh, there are so many: Milli, Max Chandler, and a bunch of others whose handles I don't recall. One was a linguistics professor.

5.  Bonus:  Do you have an all-time favorite post that you still laugh about?  What was it? The time home parties to sell fake purses were defended on the grounds that cops' wives went to them. The idea being that if cops' wives went to them, they couldn't be illegal, or not VERY illegal at least.
