1. Do you keep up with celebrity news (watch it on TV, read it online, read newspaper or magazines)?

2. What are you wearing today?

3. College-did you go? Did you stay home, go away? Did/does/will your children stay home or go away?

<<NPR is on at our house in the morning.  That's my first line of finding out what's going on in the world.>>

I listen to the radio, switching between music and a local news station in the mornings while I make breakfast and pack lunches.  We don't have a tv in the kitchen.

I watch our local news while making my bed in the morning. Then when I eat I will watch GMA. I listen to the radio in the car on the way to and from work and at lunch. I check local and world news online a few times a day as we cancelled our local newspaper subscription.

I had to google who it was as well but then again as I have said before, my kids have never been big into Disney.

She was in the newest Hairspray movie also. Not just for kids.

I go to two-three movies a year.  Movies such as "Hairspray" are not among them.  And sometimes even when I have seen an actress a lot, I don't know her name.  I'm just not that into that kind of voyeurism.

"I am surprised more people with kids would not know her"

I know who she is, my kids watched shows & movies she was in. But many people do not view celebrities & what they are doing (including has beens) as actual news or something needed to follow.  It's not a moral failing.

Moral failing? lol. Nah...just an extra to all the "regular" news that is out there everyday.

Actually Jams, my favorite news source is my twin sister. Who is an anchor in a mid-sized southern market. I get texts when big stuff hits the wire. TMZ isn't news. Neither is Entertainment Tonight. It's tabloid trash. As is People. And US Weekly. I occasionally read People and US Weekly for mindless entertainment at the gym, but it isn't hard news. It's fluff.

I tend to go to a variety of sources for news because I like to get a broad picture, which isn't possible when you're using one source exclusively. Which means I watch local and national news and I read A LOT. I acknowledge that I have a sister in the business and a journalism background. So I'm certainly not typical. Last night I had the laptop, iPad and tv going to track our local storms and tornadic activity. I was flipping back and forth between channels and going between my dad and a friend w/o power on the phone. From my basement. While the sirens were going off.

And actually, HuffPo, while not without bias, does human interest stories better than just about anyone. I don't go there for hard news, but I do go there for human interest stuff.

On Wednesdays we wear pink.

Regina---Annette Funicello's death was tabloid trash? Sorry you feel that way as TMZ was the first place I saw it last week when she passed.

I like to have a balance in life of knowing all types of things. I am very aware of the situation of North Korea (my hubby actually just called me about it as we do that all the time with any type of news).

I like being able to talk with people at parties and work and such and know the latest news out there no matter if it is mindless shows on TV, things that are happening around my own town or something around the world. I think it makes you a more well-rounded person.
