2. Favorite Salad Dressing?

3. Plans for the weekend?

"I've already had the conversation w/DS that should he ever find himself intoxicated in HS, he gets amnesty if he calls us for a ride." We had this too, or if for any reason at all, dd felt in need of rescue. My mother had the same for us as well.

Today I baked slices of beets and onions along with a whole, small codfish (about 2 lbs, mediterranean cod is small). On the side we had skordalia made from whole wheat bread and walnuts, as well as a salad with fresh, wild asparagus (they are tiny and very tasty). It was really pretty good, and easy too. The beets I just trim and scrub, then slice with the skin on. Toss with olive oil, salt and pepper (and in this case also 3 sliced onions), then bake.

We've not agreed to *amnesty* per se, but we have said that at any time if she - or her friends - need a ride they'll get it with no questions asked.  There may be discussions later one (the next day, the next week, whatever), but that we will always be their safety net.   That goes for drinking, that goes for whoever they rode with drinking, that goes for them feeling uncomfortable because others are drinking, that goes for being uncomfortable because they party is getting sexual, that goes if they just feel like a date might be dangerous ... whatever.

Yum.  When we were growing up, our house backed onto a field that had been fallow for at least as long as our house had been there.  Wild asparagus grew there (and came back every single year we lived there).  SOOO good.  And I'd never liked many veggies as a youngster--even mac and cheese and scalloped potatoes were flavors that were too strong for me when I was that young, so you KNOW I was no fan of veggies :)

But the wild asparagus?  Man, I could eat that stuff raw.  We loved late May and early June.  :)
