Do you send Christmas cards?

What is your favorite holiday movie?

Do you  have a favorite holiday cookie?

What's for dinner on Christmas?

Number five, Are you surprised by Time magazine's pick for person of the year?

No, I only buy individual cards anymore for some immediate family and my parish priest, I still get a good number of cards from family and close friends however.  The Sound of Music (the original!).  Probably a good sugar cookie with tons of icing, Lol.  Lots of Italian, ravioli and braciole, steamed asparagas, pastries, canoli and cookies.  No surprise.

1. Yes, I do. 2. The Apollo 8 segment from "From the Earth to the Moon." 3. I'm not picky, but it's not Christmas without sour cream drops with caramel frosting, shortbread, gingersnaps, and chocolate truffle cookies. 4. Country ham, baked sweet potatoes, roasted asparagus, curried fruit, and a sherry trifle. 5. Only surprised in that TIME showed good taste by going with the obvious instead of trying to be edgy and therefore stupid.

Has a pick ever been on the edge/stupid IYO?  I like Time magazine and I think it's a credible source when it comes to news and accurate reporting.  I'll have to pick up this copy.

My least favorite of their picks are when they choose a trend or an inanimate object to be "Person of the Year." Or Wallis Simpson. I hate when that happens.

Do you send Christmas cards?

Yes.  Includes a photo of the children, and if they behave, some years the dogs.

What is your favorite holiday movie?

Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph always get me in the holiday spirit.  The children will watch the Polar Express still or the Grinch with Jim Carrey.  But my favorite is "It's a Wonderful Life."

Do you  have a favorite holiday cookie?

Not really.

What's for dinner on Christmas?

Not sure, but the hostess is an amazing cook.  As far as sides, between my sibings and me: sweet potatoes, scalloped potatoes, garlic mashed potatoes, "real" cranberry sauce (my Mom), green bean casserole and mashed turnip (blech!)

Number five, Are you surprised by Time magazine's pick for person of the year?

No.  I think they have to go by the vote on their webite??  I don't really give it much weight.  I love the man but really the Time cover is a touch unnecessary.

"No. I think they have to go by the vote on their webite?? I don't really give it much weight. I love the man but really the Time cover is a touch unnecessary." They said on the website that the vote was "advisory" and that the final decision was with the editors. That is a good thing because lady I looked, Miley Cyrus was ahead on the website. Sometimes I hate democracy.

Aww man, how cool is that!  My  kids used to design our cards but that fell by the wayside when DD1 reached 13 or 14 and told me she nolonger wanted to draw the cards.  Love family pics as holiday cards!

I like It's a Wonderful Life but it's not my favorite which is odd b/c the message is a fantastic one.  I love the cartoons and Polar Express too.

About Time's cover, I have to read this one b/c the thing I don't think is necessary is the attention to social causes some people have tried fitting to their own agendas..  I truly doubt this pope will compromise church principles for social justice and the idea (in an earlier thread this week) that his words sound like something Rachel Madow would say disgusts me, What an insult to the pope.

Do you send Christmas cards? -- Not anymore. I did until about 2 years ago.

What is your favorite holiday movie? -- It's a Wonderful Life, followed closely by Elf.

Do you  have a favorite holiday cookie? -- the cookies our catering services makes - sugar cookies with an almond frosting. They are to die for.  I'll get one (or two, or three) at our Division party on Tuesday.

What's for dinner on Christmas? -- I think we are doing ribeyes.  That will be at the family gathering, which i think is going to be on Monday the 23rd.   Don't know what we'll do on Christmas day.

Number five, Are you surprised by Time magazine's pick for person of the year? -- Nope. I think it's he's very deserving.

"I don’t mind a banshee, that’s fine. 2 banshees? I HATE you. I actually wish bad things upon you." -- Day[9] Daily #459 P1
