Would you purposely spend 6 plus weeks away from you DH?

I did the first year we were married. I took an internship in Germany for two months-- although DH did come visit for a couple of days. It would be harder to be away from my kids than from DH. Not because I want to be away from DH, but we can have good conversations on the phone. It isn't really the same with kids. They need more hands on interaction.

Once the kids are grown, I would consider it if a really great opportunity came up, but much more than 6-8 weeks would be too long.

i don't like when DH travels for business either but thankfully, that stuff has been cut back to a couple days here and there than a full week away.

I have to admit that I enjoy an occasional short break. My husband is kind of high maintenance, and the first night he is away, we always order a pizza. He hates pizza. I sleep in an extra hour. But by Day 3, I miss him a lot and am eager for him to be home.
