What rooms in your house are too big, which are too small and which are just right?

I guess the grass is not always greener-lol!!

I would have liked to have a separate room to have a china closet that matched my dining room set. I have tried to separate the kitchen and eating area though but they are still connected.

Within the next year or two, I'll be installing a garage at the back of my property, including a sewing studio above it.

However, my "if I win the lottery plans" will bring the garage in to the back of the house, connecting through was is currently the 2nd bedroom.

There is no way in hell that I'm sharing a bathroom with my kids, lol.

It's a pita. That's one of our first big home improvement projects we want to take on. It's going to be expensive though, as it entails putting in a shed dormer (I think that's what my dad said it's called) in the roof, which in turn means we'll need to have the roof replaces at the same time.

I would prefer not to share ours but how do you cycle through showers with that many kids?

My kids and dh take showers at night and I take mine in the morning. I have gotten used to it but it WAS nice visiting my mom who has 2 bathrooms as one has a bath/shower, regular size but the other has just a shower but a powder room with more room.

I'm probably going to have to install a 3/4 bath in the basement just in order to renovate the one bathroom I have.
