Yep, disco shoes, sparkly disco boots actually, were my problem too. I agree it is meant to be "hearsay," that part if cool, but the platform, especially as what appears to be a verb, throws me.

Pulling "heresy" into this conversation would probably make it more interesting!

I really don't think anything at all was implied. You are getting worked up over nothing. "Enjoy" as used by emptynester here means simply "find nice" or "find fun" or "find enjoyable." She was not in any way whatsoever insinuating that you are a perv.

Good heavens....I usually enjoy clicking "accept" on fb, because it means someone took the time to find mme, and it is a nice way to reconnect with someone I have not seen for awhile. Or perhaps it is someone I have met who liked me enough to want to get to know me better. Maybe it is someone I have met online who now wants to trust me with her real life. In any case, a friend request isiusually quite flattering, almost a gift. Of course there are people who want tto friend you for less-than-friendly reasons, but I just ignore those people, sometimes I do report them. Why wouldn't someone not enjoy making friends on fb?

I have had a few total strangers send me frieend requests, for whatever reason I do not know. I have had one woman who hates me but who finds some perverse pleasure in following me around the net try to friend me. I moved around a lot when I was a kid so I lost track of a lot of people but it is sometimes a very nice surprise to get a friend request from someone saying, "we were neighbors from 1966 to 1969 and I always wondered where you had ended up." It is nice that I have a somewhat unusual spelling of my last name and I have kept my maiden name, so I am easier to find than some. I had a childhood friend named "Debbie Hamilton" and I would never be able to find her! But I am flatteered when someone from my past taakes the time to find me.

a little unrelated but there is a new page over there that links people up with their hometown or part of hometown (you know you're from xxx if...).
