TSA defends frisking of baby at KC airport ...

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Federal officials insisted Wednesday that screeners at Kansas City International Airport were just doing their jobs when they frisked a baby, an incident that gained worldwide attention after a pastor posted a cellphone picture of the pat-down on Twitter.

The baby's stroller set off an alert of possible traces of explosives Saturday, so the screeners were justified in taking a closer look at the boy cradled in his mother's arms, said Nick Kimball, a spokesman for the Transportation Security Administration...

I heard this on our local news yesterday and at first I was shocked but then they got to the part where the stroller set off alarms .. call me super suspicious but I don't put it past some people to use baby or baby equipment as a cover for smuggling .. therefore I agree that the TSA employees were just doing their jobs. As long as the mother was present during the search I don't see a problem .. anyway, that's just my two cents, what do you guys think?

Evil people will do anything to further their desires. If I wanted to blow up a plane or smuggle cocaine, and had no morals, the first thing I'd think of is to use a baby or small child.

I was separated from my daughter by customs officers in the 90s (she was about 14), we were returning from the US into Canada and they interrogated her about where her dad was, parental kidnappings between US and Canada were common so I wasn't surprised. I was slightly uncomfortable seeing her being questioned but she told me the line of questioning after and that she was truthful and to the point about our travels .. I'd have been uncomfortable to the same degree I'm sure, if my child was frisked but I'd go along and on the off chance the officer was out of line I'd complain at that point and/or later.

what i agree with is what i heard on the news the other week, they were talking about what safety on our land is leading to and someone said terrorists are plotting these crazy ideas like inserting bombs in their rectums, what then - screens inside everyone behinds?
