Since rehash #517 of whether it is good manners to bring your favorite onion dip along when invited for dinner got boring about 249 posts ago, even as a spectator sport, how about a change of pace?

1. What did you study or otherwise get trained in after HS?

2. Are you today working in a job that is related to that degree/training?

3. What do your kids want to be when they grow up?

1. What did you study or otherwise get trained in after HS? I studied languages, but I also worked my way up in a restaurant, which is definitely training.

2. Are you today working in a job that is related to that degree/training? Nope, what I do now is not really related to either, although it does fall in the humanities area.

3. What do your kids want to be when they grow up? When dd was in junior high, she wanted to be a vet - common ambition for girls who love animals, I think. Further, she wanted to buy a boat and make it into a floating vet clinic that she planned to take around to all the Greek islands. I thought it was a really cool plan actually.

1.  I trained to be a Corrosion Control Specialist.

2.  No,

3.  DD2 had wanted to be a teacher since she was a little girl and is now one.  I do not remember DD1 stating any desires as child,   She now is a personal banker and loves it. She cried on her last day of work before her surgery because she will miss it so much.   At one point DD3 said that she wanted to be a cop because they get their names painted on their cars and get free sodas from the local convience stores.

1. What did you study or otherwise get trained in after HS? - My degrees are in Marketing and Business Administration.  I've also had training (but not as higher education) in graphic design and layout and research administration (what I do now).

2. Are you today working in a job that is related to that degree/training? -- Yes. The marketing degree less so than the MBA. I only get to use my graphic design/layout skills on a rare basis.  I miss that.

3. What do your kids want to be when they grow up? -- The Girl wants to go into Forensic Science. She's looking at a dual degree in Biochemistry and Forensic Sciences. The program/college she wants to attend would result in her having two Bachelor's degrees at graduation. The Boy? Who knows, but he's been talking more about doing something related to the trumpet.

1. What did you study or otherwise get trained in after HS?

Generally, the travel industry. I wanted to be a flight attendant.

2. Are you today working in a job that is related to that degree/training?

Somewhat. I got the job initially because of my training, but have moved up within the company to an area that is different than what I trained to do.

3. What do your kids want to be when they grow up?

DS wants to be a scientist (He's 9, so he wants to be a scientist by day, superhero by night)

DD wants to be an artist (she is 5, so she goes back and forth between artist and princess)
