1. Anything weird happen lately?

Over the weekend, while Joel was trying to ... ummm... use it, the bolt that holds the toilet tank onto the pedestal fell out, and the tank tipped over sideways.  Poor kid was traumatized.  Surprised

2. What's for dinner?

Pasta salad and marinated cucumber/tomato salad.

3. What are you reading right now? (not at THIS moment)

Nothing, actually.  I've been so focused on moving and upacking that I've forgotten to read anything.

4. What are you  listening to right now? (NOW! THIS moment! lol)

Silence.  A few minutes ago it was a co-worker dragging drawings around.

5. What's been controversial in your community or state lately?

Everything the Governor and his family have done.

Holy smokes, MHM! That is really nasty. If the dude was doing this in front of the camp, he's probably a pedophile, so keep a watch out in case he got away before the cops arrived. You might also want to call the camp to let them know there's a pervert nearby.

I chose bad wording.  I meant the HaveNots are the ones losing/will be losing jobs.  So, if Apple Inc. and other computer companies got tax incentives to locate their principal offices in California, then when there's a crisis and so many lose government jobs, the debate is shouldn't the state's biggest employers (and beneficiaries of favorable tax treatment)  hire some of the unemployed?  That kind of debate.  Sorry to be unclear.

So the "powerful taxpayers" are terminating the formerly employment government "haves, e.g govt employees". Heck, I don't disagree with your point, yet, but who is losing a job and for what reason?

When I went to work for our town budget committee, there were problems with wasteful spending. Someone lost their job, but almost all were validated and appreciated. I don't think anyone on the state or city payroll could be described as a "have".

That's really the controversy.  The Haves should not have to create jobs for anyone.  The "Have Nots" are government employees and will be/have been losing jobs as the government tries to close the state deficit.

I'm confused.  Why would the"haves" have to create new jobs for the terminated? Why couldn't they keep their old jobs?

1.  Well, not really.  That is, until I woke up today and learned that someone here thinks Lake Michigan, the 5th largest lake *in the world* is man made.  And that someone else didn't know if it was or not.  That was pretty weird. Funny as heck, but weird.

2. Steak, cole slaw.

3. Elizabeth I (Margaret George).  It's good, but slow going because I've been using my at home free time to get the sewing room up and operational.  Finally finished that project Monday morning, but now my free time will be spent sewing, so Elizabeth will be delegated to lunch hours for the foreseeable future.

4. HGTV

5. The additional water tax to deal with run off into the Bay.

2. What's for dinner?

Don't know, I don't feel like cooking for myself tonight, so I may have cereal.

3. What are you reading right now? (not at THIS moment)

Reading The Silent Wife by Harrison.

4. What are you  listening to right now? (NOW! THIS moment! lol)

Doggies whining for their walk, will listen to Feast of Crows on the walk.

5. What's been controversial in your community or state lately?

Replacing our Pastor, a well-loved 20yr veteran who's stepping down in July. Though he gave plenty of notice, the search committee can not decide on a candidate, so we'll have a year of guest pastors while the search continues. My husband is on the committee and horrified at the sexism and classism displayed by its members, but I'm confident his faction will prevail for the good of our church.
