Do you decorate outside?

Are you hosting or going somewhere this year?

Big group or small one?

How is shopping going?

I would agree, but that is your children understanding the generous spirit of giving, not you.

I'm pretty sure I've heard the names Samantha, Barbara, and Martha before.  No way you made them up.

Why would you have friends on fb with whom you don't interact?

Because maybe the mutual friend took a picture with Jams and tagged her. Or maybe the mutual friend shared a meme that she thought Jams would find parituclarly interesting so she tagged James in her status. Or maybe the friend didn't tag Jams at all, but Jams simply responded to the friend's status.

An example:

Samantha posts "Martha started horseback riding lessons today. Hope she enjoys them."  To which Jams replies "Barbara (jams' kid) has been taking them for years and has absolutely adored them. I"m sure Martha will too."   --- and Bord, who is a mutual friend of Samantha, sees the post and *voila* now knows Jams' daughter's name.

Does it take population into account?

I have no clue. You would have to read up on it more. You are more than welcome. I have kickboxing class tonight so don't have time.

If Bord is friend with Samantha (made up person) and Jams is friends with Samantha - and Jams and/or her family is mentioned on Samantha's page (in a comment, tagged, etc - by either Jams or Samantha) Bord can possibly see it. She wouldn't need to "go through" Samantha - it would show up on Bord's newsfeed!

Could you explain to me WHY Jam and her family would be mentioned or tagged in one of their mutual friends on facebook? I KNOW who Jams mutual friends are and I know the relationships on fb with them.

The plain, simple fact is that she went LOOKING for this info.

I'd call them tax brackets not rates.

The IRS calls them tax rate schedules and tax tables, so tax rates would be correct.

Not true, friends of mine comment on the pages of their friends (where we are not friends) and those comments appear in my newsfeed all the time.  I didn't have to go through anything to see their comments, if my friends made a comment on a status.
