Do you decorate outside?

I decorate inside and out. I love holiday decorating!

Are you hosting or going somewhere this year?

I always host my family and MIL & FIL on Christmas Day. We're headed to the ILs this year for that celebration--we take turns and I hosted last year.

Big group or small one?

Big group on DH's side, small group on mine.

How is shopping going?

Almost finished. Kids are done. DH & I are done--although I need to pick up a little something for under the tree.  BIL, MIL, a few nieces & nephews & some friends are left. I'll be done by this time next week.

Hey Jambles--Bord is a genuinely nice person, who made a contribution to your cause b/c putting all debating aside, I think we can all agree that juvenille diabetes is AWFUL. I believe the words you are looking for are "thank you." It was a gift given because she isn't the ogre you and turrrrkeygurl would like to make her out to be. Sheesh. Say thank you and move on.

We usually decorate outside, but haven't this year.  Between the freezing temps and several viruses that have his our home this season, it's not likely going to happen.  We do have lights up in the window...on the inside, but visible from the outside.

Both.  MIL always hosts dh's side of the family the weekend before Christmas... about 18-20 people.  Then we have a small, family Christmas at home, and often end up inviting another family over for the afternoon.  Could be from 10-15 people.

Shopping?  What's that?!  ;)

I don't think it's a southwest thing. There are lighting contests all over the country.  Our luminaries have been going on for 20+ years and the traffic has only increased as time goes on.

We don't do yards of the month.

It is increasingly obvious that you do not know how FB works.

I looked you up to find out where you live, Jambles.  Know why I did that?  Because I was peeved because YOU had made a post mentioning where I live, despite my many pleas over the years to people not to post identifying information.  So I wanted to retaliate by posting where YOU live.  That was juvenile of me, I admit.  But I looked YOU up to find where YOU live.  Not your child.  The fact that the first link I got was to your donation page was not my fault.  Then I decided, "Oh, why not surprise her with an anonymous donation?"  I am not sure why you felt compelled to bring it to the board.

Sav--my teeny little town hosts a contest. We don't participate b/c I don't do THAT much outdoor decorating, but it is always fun to drive around and see the houses that compete. :)

In our area, it's called the Tacky Tour...the attitude behind which, I suppose, is why I have never been able to get past the idea that outdoor decorations might be considered distasteful.

Areas with HOAs do all sorts of things.

We've made a tradition of driving around and looking at Christmas lights on Christmas night after dinner since having kids, Lol, Plan to do that this year too.
