Jambles delusions feed into a nice little narrative about how there is so much help available for everyone that if you remain poor, or addicted, it MUST be because you have a character flaw. And of course if you've never ever been poor, you don't have that particular character flaw. Wealth becomes a sign of moral superiority.

Thank you for stating this so eloquently.

The only delusional thing I see on this thread is Jam's so-called passion for social justice. One can not simultaneously look down their nose at the poor and claim to be passionate about social justice. Those two things are utterly incompatible.

On Wednesdays we wear pink.

<Dh's side is full of addicts who will die denying problems exist, That's not the fault of a system so please don't confuse the two. >

Marla offered up proof of people desperate for help, not the deniers. Can you dispute her argument?

Cool, You must know more than I do then b/c all I go by is what's written, She said one member is getting some help, The other I really don't know outside the addicts she's says they are!  I believe there are two directions addicts go, They seek help and they get it or they deny problems exist to begin with, My inlaws are the latter.  Please go right ahead if you have something to share there chestnut...

If you could choose one dream job, what would it be?

I'd be a legitimate working actress, not famous, just working steadily in really good challenging regional theater, part of a rep company so I could just create and still live in one place

2. Amanda Bynes, crazy?

publicity crazy maybe...

I've talked to thousands of drug addicts trying to obtain help who couldn't find it, who desperately wanted it. Did you miss that part?

Oh bord, New low? Fine. Poor childhoods come up here a lot and our upbringings do shape our future selves, But just because you grew up poor doesn't mean help and services don't exist.

Good for you, I deal with my community, One individual/family at a time and all that.  This kind of division gets society nowhere but if you want to continue placing a damper on human services go right ahead.

Jams - she offered real, life experience in rehab centers and its (often) denials. For every 100 calling for help a small percentage qualifies for beds in rehab centers.

Your lack of knowledge of addiction and recovery is staggering and a bit frightening if you really are interested in pursuing a career in social work. Many want help (sometimes), but the addiction is powerful and insidious. It's not a character flaw, it's a disease, and treatment is prohibitively expensive.

There are many don't want to give up the high, but to put treatment so out of reach to the many, is unconscionable.

What else would you like me to share, Jams?

What division are you talking about?

Reality vs. nonreality? Fact vs. fiction?

Just one facility, Jams. Just give me the name of one facility that I can call that offer the kind of comprehensive care you've mentioned with immediate openings. One. I'll call, verify, and leave you be.

I'll be waiting. I'm making this terribly easy for you, you know.
