They tend to be of the "quiverful" variety--quoting the verses about women submitting to their husbands and the like. They interpret the submission part and particularly the "head of the household" bit to equal the stereotypical housefrau/working husband setup. I'm always very amused by the fact that the societal context in which the scriptures were written is never taken into account during these interpretations.

Like the quiverful people, for example. Lots of children WERE a blessing in a time in which the child mortality rate exceeded 50% and their labor was needed in the agriarian society in which they lived. They contributed to the household in ways children today just don't. That isn't a slam to kids today, it's a fact of a different time and lifestyle. But literalists don't take that into account. It's the word of God. You follow exactly what it says. Which is crazy to me. Because God as Jesus spoke in parables. So why wouldn't the Word of God also be written in parables and allegories and metaphors?

On Wednesdays we wear pink.

IIRC, she also posted pictures of posters' children and homes.

I happen to believe that "some women" are called to stay at home, but not all. And I certainly do not believe that there is a biblical mandate.

What kind of sick *$#($ would post pictures of somebody else's children to a public forum? And homes? WTH?

I just thought the debate style was kind of interesting in a circus sideshow kind of way. I had no idea it was actually coming from someone with that level of sociopathic behavior.

Hi, Everyone..

Just a quick reminder that while this is a debate board, the debate needs to be kept about sahm vs. wohm topics. Please keep the negative comments about each other off the board or we'll need to remove them as we've already had to do, and we hate to disrupt an otherwise good debate.

Thank you! Now, back to the debate!

Donna, thanks for the reminder. Just as a heads up though, based on previous board history, the grand finale is still to come and will be something like this:
